The 2013 Transfer Rumours Thread

3 Teams in the 2013/14 Premier League has yet to spend money in this transfer window. Can you guess who they are?

Benitez at Napoli has done some good business after selling Cavani.
Real Madrid strikers Jose Callejon, Higuain for 35m and defender Raul Albiol
winger Dries Mertens from PSV Eindhoven
Pepe Reina from Liverpool

that is some good business done there as those players are top class
not sure if there was any other signings

Napoli still have about 60mil to spend... very good team Rafa is building there. Well run club too.

Those are some rather good transfers... Nice way to strengthen the squad for the upcoming CL campaign...

So, I have to ask, why did Arsenal not give Madrid the 35mil they were asking for, but instead chose to pursue a far more difficult (and costlier) target in Suarez?

Realistically, I don't see them buying anyone for more than 20mil.

Suarez was the second highest scorer in the league last season, so he is a known quantity in the league. Probably just didn't think Higuian was worth what Real was asking.

I'm glad Rodgers has come out and told Arsenal to up their bid or just stop wasting everybody's time (paraphrasing).

The only thing I can think off is that Suarez is Premier League proven.

Higuain has fantastic stats though and I would have prefered him over Suarez.

+-30mil for him was a fair price in my opinion and if you look at what we're throwing at Suarez it seems like we could afford it.

I agree with you both, on that Suarez is a known and highly capable PL player.

But he will be banned for 16% of his club's PL games right off the bat. And Liverpool are fighting tooth and nail to keep him.

Looking at Higuain- wanted to leave Madrid and was allowed to by the club, with a lower fee to boot... he just made the more sensible and viable option.

Suarez is so not a "Post-Invicibles Wenger" signing I am not sure what to make of it. I'll have to trust that they know more than we do.

But yes Higuain looked the better prospect for me as well.

Its almost like Arsenal are trying to make it difficult for Real Madrid to sign Suarez since they didn't do them any favours over the Higuain move

:wtf:

Chelski - Rooney
Arsenal - Suarez
Man Utd - Fabregas

All that's lacking is Man City - Bale

Arsenal
Newcastle
West Brom

??

West Brom And Cardiff are yet to make a signing. Arsenal signed someone, but it was on a free. So thats the 3 clubs yet to spend some money.

Newcastle signed Olivier Kemen on an undisclosed fee.

Got the info from this site:

http://www.transferleague.co.uk/

EDIT: I saw this morning that Cardiff has bought a keeper from Brentford. Only waiting on the paperwork to make it official.

That would only leave Arsenal and WBA on this list. :(
