The 2016 Way Less Objectivity thread

Caught a tummy bug last week.Lost 3 kg in those 3 days :D

So doc got results back from blood test for cholesterol, he's quite happy.

Total: 3.1
LDL: 1.8
HDL: 1

Certainly a good argument that LCHF does not impact cholesterol negatively.

COnsidering that LDL and triglycerides are products of carbohydrate metabolism.... unsurprising :D

My current weight
Can i join
Current weight: 88kg is now 83:D

Sometimes your metabolism becomes more efficient and your body then burns energy at a slower rate when you exercise. This is more so with cardio and unless you are training to the point you create a major deficit in energy in vs energy out it can take ages to translate into kgs lost.

Forget the scale and rather use the jeans test or measurements. Also focus more on weight lifting because as you gain muscle your body will burn more energy to support that muscke mass even when you are at rest.

Finally back on the losing train after last weeks excesses. Weight back at start of week ( 137kg ) and trending down.

I weigh myself daily, sometimes not weekends... but I had a quick look back at my stats... for Friday totals...

01/03 - 120.2 (where i started on the monday)
01/08 - 114.7
01/15 - 113.8

01/22 - 113.2 -\
01/29 - 113.3 |- where I complained about not going anywhere...
02/05 - 113.2 -/

02/12 - 111.7 - and these two is where
02/19 - 112.0 - I stopped eating lunch

So overall, even though I feel like I'm not going anywhere... the trend is still downwards

To me it feels like I'm losing a lot of weight but not really seeing it on the scale.

Currently at 84.0kg.

I don't know what I weigh, but I'm getting there.

I look better than I have in years. I still have a little bit of tummy fat, but its not bad. I think in about 2 months, my abs might start to become visible. Its hard to say for sure, but I think I have put on muscle. I can definitely lift much heavier weights than I could before.

My arms and legs are quite lean, I just have a bit of tummy fat, and even that is shrinking. But it takes time, its a slow process.

I'm very happy, because I went from weighing around 110kg in about 2008/2009, to weighing 95kg somewhere in 2010, and then hovered around 90kg for a couple of years. But made no real progress. Now that I have a different mindset, and take it much more seriously, I weigh close to 85kg and my body composition has changed a lot. More muscular and less flabby.

I used to have thighs big enough that they would rub when I would walk, and they would become chafed. I had quite a big boep, and no muscle really. I had a double chin.

And even when I weighed 90kg, I just couldn't get below 90. I couldn't get the weight off and keep it off. Personally I think I would have slowly got fatter and fatter over the years - because of insulin resistance.

I know I'm not nearly as big some of the guys here, and I had less to lose in the first place. I take my hat off to you guys, but you know what, you guys can do it. When you get your mindset right, everything else follows.

I've been nudging upwards again - 88 this morning. I eat mostly LCHF but lately I've been adding a bit of fruit - grapes and peaches and it seem to be a mistake.
My other indulgence is beer, but only over weekends, so I'll cut that as well.
Maybe I'll get round to cycling again this weekend.

Fruit is very bad on LCHF. If you need a fix, look to berries. Grapes are a special no no, very sweet, high sugar.
