The 2016 Way Less Objectivity thread

This past week I've had lots of junk food (pizza, a burger & chips, icecream, beer). scared to get onto the scale.

I've reached a milestone, no real progress since my last report, but my wife and I have successfully completed the 1st round of 28 days of our eating plan. I have lost a total of 12.2kg's during the time and she has lost a majestic 19.2kg's during the 28 days.

We have proven to ourselves that we can stick it out for 28 days. Furthermore, I believe that what I have gained from this was the following: habit of taking smaller portions; getting over sugar habit/dependency; generally healthier foods (no junk food; increased intake in fruit and veggies); increased water intake; self motivation (blood pressure much better; fitting into older clothes again; getting up from the couch much easier; etc).

This plan is certainly not for everyone, but if anybody is interested, I can share the details with you. I can vouch for the fact that I have not experienced any adverse effects while being on this eating plan - no drops in blood sugar or anything experienced.

I have collected a bunch of the docs from the Facebook group related to the eating plan and added them to a dropbox.

Remember that the group is predominantly Afrikaans tannies, so forgive the content of the files and also feel free to check out the group.

Most important files (IMO) are the excel table with daily menu and 18MB pdf. Everything (and more, including Afrikaans versions) is available in the Facebook group.

I started with this yesterday, now on day 2. My sister told me about it and convinced me, she is on her second 28 days after a 2 week break, she lost a lot in her first 28.
Nothing else really worked for me in the past so will see how it goes, I started on 135.2 kg and eventually want to lose 20 - 25 kg.

On 18 July, I went to Dischem to do a checkup. They found my cholesterol to be pretty high. So I started reading up on what the effects of this is, and it was scary.

Weighed in at 151.8KG that day. Changed around everything, trying to lose more weight so I can start exercising properly again, but only eating out once or twice a month instead of every 2 or 3 days, and eating only two energy bars or something a week - I know it's not healthy either, but it's a lot better than 4 bar ones and 4 slabs a week, and I'm not left with the severe cravings for more the next day.

This morning I weighed in at 136.9KG. Long way to go, but it was very nice seeing my weight start with a 1 and a 3 at least.

And you too, well done! When you starting your next stint? And what are you eating between the two stints?

Ha! We just started round 2 today, I am still a bit hungry after my chicken and one veg lunch, but will drown that hunger in water this afternoon.

In the off time, I had to get me some steak - had a lovely rump on Saturday and braaied some awesome lamb chops last night. We did go off the rails a bit, but mostly since we knew that round two was around the corner.

I will keep tracking my progress and give updates accordingly.

how long was the break? and how much did you gain in that time?

Is that a healthy weight loss? So much in such a short time

We ended round 1 on Tuesday last week. By yesterday, I was up about half a kilo. Will get on the scale tonight again, but I think it would be a bit inaccurate due to water weight, etc.

As for the amount of weight loss - I cannot vouch for how healthy it is to lose that amount over the space of time, but consider that I started on about 156kg's, so it is all fat loss. Secondly, apart from feeling peckish at times, I didn't experience side effects like drop in blood sugar or anything. I was quite chuffed with my willpower, though.
