The 80's

Anyone remember the late show with Barney Simon back when it was still good, lot's of SA stuff on there. The intro song to the show was Psycho Reptiles's Monster from the bog :D
 
The naughties was the worst decade in the history of music.....
 
@ the graduate, where did you graduate, I never came across rick asHley in the 80's.

Oh yes, the 80's music was the best. You hear 2 seconds of the song and you straight away know the artist and title of song and if a movie, what movie and more-or-less what year. In those days, songs used to get released at separate times for us, the US and the UK. No mp3's to download. Eish, the good old days.
2 favourite songs are 'the sun always shines on TV' by A-ha, and 'don't you forget about me' by Simple Minds from the movie The Breakfast Club. Millions of other favourites but these 2 popping into my mind right now.
 
when i did my national service i ask my mum to send up my 2 rap cassettes and i wore them out. i still have cassettes lying around the house from those days.
 
The 90's was a pretty decent era for music as well.
From the year 2000 onwards it has been pathetic.

All this rap, hip-hop, R&B, Guetta ft Jiveass ft Gansta crap annoys the kuk out of. Can't recall the last time I listened to the radio.

love the 80's movies alone were epic, i must admit i love the music as well. the dancing in the music vids always crack me up :D for those of you that have toptv check out the magic channel 504 iirc. they have some great 80's music shows.

oh and the series from the 80's were also epic ... 80's was def my fav decade, the 90's weren't bad but i agree with most forumites ... from 2000 it's been bad ...
 
born in 1968, i don't remember the music of the 70's but the 80's sticks with me.

I'm a few years younger but generally enjoy most music 60's - 90's, even stuff prior to that & classical music. I have an aversion to opera & most of todays crap though.

Going to the various nightclubs in Hillbrow...those were the days :)
