He can park off in a police van then.
I mean, who hasn't slept in a vehicle overnight? Only for a night.
He might actually enjoy that... if he has a butch policeman to keep him company

"This is informed by the fact that he is currently a patient and a suspect who is in police custody and may need medical assistance en-route to the country."
a valium ?
so he will be here any minute or so. i hope no bail is allowed he is most certainly a flight risk.
It would seem that he will go to Valkenburg, either with or without bail.
I watched some footage of him again last night walking to and from court in the UK. I think he tries to act in the way that HE thinks a person with PTSD would act! He walks slowly, eyes half closed, like an 80 year old man. That is not PTSD, that is a bad acting job.
I just read in the goverment's press release, that he would be first go for a psych evaluation at Valkenberg. If he's found not fit to stand trial, he will be kept here and treated for 18 months. If after the 18 months he is still not fit for trial, he will be sent home.
How is it that he was fit for trial in his appeals against extradition?
What do you mean? He wasn't fit for trial - that's what his appeals against extradition was based upon...
According to the newspaper, if he is denied bail and it is found that he is suffering from mental illness, he will be transferred to the general psychiatric unit at Valkenberg Hospital in Cape Town. If he is granted bail but requires medical care, he will still be transferred to Valkenberg Hospital.

But that's just it. He was there, in court, for his appeals.
Think about it. How do you stand in court arguing that you're not fit to stand trial because of your mental condition. Your mental condition couldn't have been that bad if you could launch an appeal and come up with a reason why you should not be extradited to stand trial - that is not the action of someone with PTSD or who is not in full control of his faculties. Remember, his mental condition wasn't the only reason his UK attorneys put forward; the South African justice system and our detention facilities also came under scrutiny, his leagal team sayng that it wasn't up to international standards, that they were concerned about the conditions he would be incarcerated under etc etc. Once again, not the product of someone who is not fit to stand trial.
His legal team doesn't have PTSD so I don't know what you're on about..
He wasn't present at all his appeals anyway and those where he was present he didn't have to testify or give evidence about the murder of his wife. Totally different to what he'll face here in court for the trial. I really don't think you can compare the 2 or make any judgement about whether or not he is suffering from PTSD from the fact that he launched so many appeals.
