The Anni Dewani Murder Case

i read online now that the driver was forced out at the robots before entering GUGs.

If some guy takes my wife and says he not going to hurt her.BS.I would fight to the death.
If they not going to harm her why not drop them off together. In fact taking away the woman & leaving the husband unharmed means when calls the police they are going to be looking for the hijackers with everything they got. And what the husband says can only be confirmed by the hijackers... it's too convenient.

In hindsight he and his wfe should probably have had a go at them, and tried to escape - but there were two of them !

Easy to say in hindsight, of course.

Fair enough but think about,as soon as they seperate you there is trouble.

1. It is not a forecast. It is a fact. The death penalty will never be re-instituted in this country. Go and read how it was abused by the apartheid government to get rid of its enemies.
You are making a prediction, unless you are God's nephew you have no information about the future.

2. I understand what you attempted to write about the death penalty. An opinion not really worth pursuing in the light of my statement in 1. above.

Rather, you attempted to read what I wrote about the death sentence. I offered no opinion at all.

Read my post above. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/284381-British-woman-on-honeymoon-shot-dead-and-body-dumped-in-back-seat-after-car-...?p=5067587&viewfull=1#post5067587

That much is obvious. What is not obvious is how the forensic evidence established at the time the police made the statement could so rapidly and directly link a suspect to the murder.

Unintelligible.

I would base my opinion on actual numbers i.e. cost of lawyers vs say cost of life term of 50 years in jail.

Keep in mind that he has the right to appeal against his life sentence so there is the cost of the parole board say every 4 or so years listing to reasons why he must be released as he has now been transformed.

Yes it can happen that a prisoner reforms.

But how many get out and repeat the rapes and murders?
What is the cost to the victims then?
What about the manhunt cost for tracking repeat offenders so that they can go back back to court at tax payers money.

Ok that is the USA process.

Here in the good old SA they bribe their way out of jail and go straight back to killing and raping.

Back to op.
It sounded strange that the husband was "released" and did not "escape".

I will not be surprised to hear that he arranged the "strange affair".

My collegue just said she got what she deserved for being in a bad area.:sick::sick:
Wtf.
Wanted to beat him.

I agree with you especially if it was the husbands idea all along. Oh wait..she did say yes to marry him.. or was it an arranged mariage??

Ask your collegue to explain that as you beat him with the arm that you ripped of him. Serves him right for putting his foot in it LOL

The typical African way of thinking....think of now and not the future.Don't they realise that scaring tourists away means less jobs?

I wish they treated all murder cases like this :(

God has nothing to do with it, but this country's past as well as the ANC have everything to do with it. Educate yourself on ANC policies.

Stop moving around the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Fingerprints are indeed someneone's very personal business card :)
In a perfect world maybe. In the real world fingerprints found at crime scenes are usually not perfect, often distorted or incomplete. How often do they go to the trouble of making sure every point on the print matches their suspect. What's the false positive rate if we match 7 points? How is that affected by distortions and missing portions of the print? How much better is it if we go to 8 points?

What a pity Robert McBride never went the same way.

Puzzling

The source also said Shrien Dewani left the country at 21:00 on Tuesday.

He added that there are some questions surrounding Shrien which are puzzling the police. “There was not a single scratch or scrape on his body.”

Atleast he wasn't damning about South Africa:

He told UK-based The Telegraph newspaper that the couple had a "wonderful time" in South Africa.

"What has happened to us is tragic, but you can't punish the whole country for the actions of two individuals," said Shrien in an interview with The Telegraph.

"That would be irrational. On the whole, the people here have been overwhelmingly friendly and caring.

"I think that any time you are away from your comfort zone you have to exercise caution. But I wouldn't say, 'don't come to South Africa'."
