I bought 6" (15cm) accoustic ducting from hydroherb and boy has it made a difference. I'm redirecting the hot air out the window now. The ducting is flexible and easy to work with. You can bend the frame slightly to make it square - the 15cm size fits snugly over the outlet fan. This stuff is brilliant. It's not only cooler in the room, it's also quieter. Next to finish my box.

I'll post them when I'm done with the boxes. I've 'clipped' the two miners together and can still fit the ducting on, but they're in a temporary location right now. Maybe I'll take pics in the morning when the light is good.
 
D3 shipping notification received from Bitmain this morning, much earlier than expected, I might sell it and spend the money on some home improvement.

There are a bunch for sale on gumtree. Some below cost. Current real earnings on NH estimated at R3900 pm based on a days use.
 
Heres the ducting. Cant tell you what a huge diffs it has made both to the noise factor and the heat just set up as it is. Add to this the egg-crate foam im going to use for noise dampening and I should be set.

I think the price will pick up once all this fork madness is over and the Dash price increases.

Still Bitmain shafted us. If potential hemp industry adopts dash then maybe. Problem is how many d3 being delivered between now and December. Difficulty gone from 500 when announced to 20 million. Every weeks earnings halved...now barely 10 dollars a unit a day on the revised 19ghs units

That's nicehash mining for 24 hours - i.e. real world figures using the current machine. My machine is registering around 18 or so average.

I wouldn't blame Bitmain for that. S9s were looking pathetic 4 months ago, today they're catching the L3+. Mining is not what it was 6 months ago. Then again it's been through this cycle many times before until new hardware is out - then the cycle begins again. It's going to be a non stop process IMO.

Is that before or after power costs? I'm debating what to do with mine when it arrives. I don't think NH have updated the D3 to 19GH on their profitability calculator.

They know what they doing. When you charge a lot of money for something which ships months later you don't flood the market after mining for months on your own. L3 plus has been more consistent due to not showing ridiculous profits in a way. D3 was showing hundreds of dollars a day creating hype which Bitmain capitilized on. Warning sign was 50 percent price cut. I should have bought the l3 plus at 1500 at that time
 
I'm beginning to think that S9 would have been a better buy too. Yes, there was a great hype created around the profitability of the D3, and like many people, they also say $$$ signs. I'm looking at mining various x11 coin and trading up instead. I believe it might be more sustainable until there is another boom coin that'll at least give me ROI before I'm dead. If I manage to swing the D3, I would.

That's based on NH output after 24 hours - 1100w electricity costs not taken into account.

Has anyone used them? I found a local (SA) node with very low latency and am tempted to try it but can't seem to figure out the settings. Anyone know?

Now mining on the EU node. Can't seem to find that link to the SA node anymore. Seems the web interface is down too lol. I'm going to give it 24 hours and see.

I would be temped to try too, especially if there's a local presence. Might check it out.
 
36 degrees predicted for Pretoria today, so decided to switch off my L3+ until this evening, at least I get all my cooling sorted out.

The D3 operates 10 C hotter than the L3 on a normal day. They're going to be tough on a hot day. I've ordered a 12kBTU portable aircon from gmc. Should be arriving today.
