The Asic thread

so if you had 250k to start on a mining venture what would you do?

An asic like a s9 plus some gpu mining rig (6x 1070) and maybe another rig with the spare money based on Vega?

By my primitive conservation calculations the s9 will take about 7 month to have complete roi and the 1070 mining rig roughly 5 months.

Don't buy ASIC locally unless you get a really good price.
I would say 50k at most.

If you get GPU, make sure you have enough cooling in place. They get a little on the hot side

I have some GPU rigs but am thinking of looking at an ASIC. where is the best place to buy from? Straight from Bitmain?

It's the cheapest option. Latest units have been going for low 20k. Everywhere else wants 60-70k

Just stockpile BCH and follow them on Twitter. They announce batches that sell out within 10 minutes though.

If you quick enough you can get a few units for cheap

This guy is trying his luck it seems, what are the rules regarding sending messages to users out of the blue offering services?

Edit: Website looks as bad as you would expect from a chancer.

No, but I wish they would. I love having fun with those types.

ASIC worth getting into still with maybe R60-80k? Not too bothered about power for the moment.
