The Asic thread

Now for the questions about the S9. Is there a way that I can remotely control/access my miner? I live in Durban and work in Richards Bay. The miner will be left in RBay and Id like to monitor it when Im in Durban. Right now I'm in RBay so I cannot set up the miner till Thursday

Definitely but be very very careful as the web interface is not on https and eavesdroppers will be able to pick up your login details when you use it. Normally you would redirect any port of your choice to your miner from your router but what might be better is to allow remote https access to your router to allow you to login to the router first and enable and disable the port forwarding rule at your leisure so that it's not on permanently. Alternatively if you have a raspberry pi you can configure it with OpenVPN to allow secure access to your LAN where the miners reside. PM me if you need help - tell me a bit more about what router you own on the Richard's Bay side.

Thanks man. I will PM you shortly.

Can't get BCH within an hour unfortunately. I'm out on this one.

Antminer A3 does 588usd a day atm, let's see how quickly that rate drops when the miners ship :P

They're already mining with them as can be seen on antpool stats. Unless you got in this batch I'd say don't buy.

Is it better to mine a single coin pool or a pool that does multiple coins based on most profitable?

I currently set my S9 up using the multipool option from www.multipool.us.
But, I can switch it to mine an individual pool

I prefer multipool but it depends on the long term outlook of the coin youre mining. If difficulty is low now and price low, mining and holding can be much more profitable in the long run.

I have 2 miners set up now. 1 is on multipool.us and the other is on slushpool. The problem im having now is with the miner on multipool, in 2 hours the accpeted shares is 891 and the rejected shares is 505. The miner using slush pool is 1752 Accepted and 11 rejected. Should I switch both over to slushpool or leave it as is?

Hi guys is this correct earnings? 2 dollars a day. Roi is pretty low?

Could run it for free at work.

Damn it actually way less 0.20 dollars a day.

I would not buy anything from the people in the link you posted.
They lie and and refuse to help if they ship you a broken device. They even say on their site they test it to make sure you get a 100% working product.
They promising lots of thins on their site and don't really do it
Be warned

So I ordered an A3, it arrived, but the idiot in me forgot to get a PSU with it. Does anyone have a spare APW3++ lying around PM me.

There is no waiting period for the power supplies, if you only order that then you should have it in a week or so. I got my power supplies 5 weeks before my asics arrived.

A desktop power supply will work but will need to be a big one with 10x 6pin pci-e. or 2 smaller ones wired into the same switch so they turn on at the exact time - Note, however, multiple psu's are not recommended by bitmain and should be done at your own risk. I've got 2 HP server supplies running mine since the a3 shipped sooner than the psu albeit bought at the same time.

It depends on the batch. I've waited over a month for shipping.
