Just out of curiosity as it's not clear on the manual, I have no fog lights.

I have no all weather headlight button and my headlights are bi xenon without being adaptive.

Do the headlights replace the fog light by themselves ?

Thanks! I see it's detailed on how to change the bulb on page 233 of my manual  Will try adjusting the old one before getting a new one.

Yeah they can be a bit finicky.

Have more than once thought a bulb popped and then removed it to find out it's fine an upon putting it back it works again.

Dodgy VAG electrics. :)

Well did just take the entire front of my A3 off to get to the engine about 2 weeks back, so no surprise if something popped loose!

How's this for Throwback Thursday.

Original Audi S4. 2.2L; 5 pot; Quattro (of course); 169kw; 350nm. MSRP of R220k in late 1992. Was actually assembled locally as well.

I consider myself lucky for the original S4 experience. That is pure quattro heaven in a car I can only praise, the ultimate 2.2.

Did not get a chance to change the bulb yet but it started working again for one trip tonight, both the fog light itself worked and warning light went away... Got home and then it stopped working again. So I will just need to pop it out and back in and make sure its tight and hopefully all good after that.

Never knew they were so hectically into 5-cylinders in the past.

I knew VW were but that's been more recent to my memory as well.

I bought a 2010 A4 avant 1.8t sline. This car was looked after its insane. Very very little wear and tear. Interior almost looks unused. Took it for a 400 km drive round to Clanwilliam through to Lamertsbaai and back via Langebaan. Damn this car is a beaut ♥️.

Audi was into 5-pot motors many years before that even.

I'll post something from my collection next Thurs

In the meantimeif you can recall this S4 ad from 1994. It was imo one of the best Audi ads in recent memory. Heavily featured locally as well just without the American accent at the end.

Hey I actually remember that.

I also remember the quality being way better.

:)

I see the Audi 100 used it first and later the Quattro Rally car. Never knew that specifically, or maybe it just didn't stand out at the time.

And mine decided to spill its guts on the highway. Gearbox oil filter housing suffered some "plastic fatigue" and all gearbox oil pissed out. Hansel and Gretel trail of oil straight to my garage.:erm:

Congrats!
I love the station wagon, I've been eyeing them out, hopefully get one when the right one pops.

So having bit of issue now with the 2010 Audi a4 avant multi I just purchased. Already informed the dealer that sold me the car and as well got 2 year extended warranty.

Busy with little roadtrip at moment, in PE now.

Hoping someone can point me into the right direction. Whilst driving on incline and going about 80km/h car will jerk. As if trying to drop a gear but it doesn't. Last service was in Dec 2016 and multitronic oil was changed. When using paddles shifts are fine. Lower speeds and higher speeds are fine. I spoke to Audi roadside assistance over the phone. Spoke to chap at Audi PE (will be making a turn in morning to have car checked out as driving back to CT after that). He said could be the clutch slipping - now I have done fair bit of motorcross racing and went through clutches, norm is motor will start revving higher and will be in all gears having issue. I'm not experiencinh that at all. Car is perfect in all situations just not at 80km/h on an steep incline. Anyways I want them to check that multitronic oil level is correct.

Note: oil level on engine is fine. I have had no engine or warning lights come up during my time with the car.

Any suggestions or recommendations on what to check will be appreciated.

Spy shots! Audi fleet spotted testing in Gauteng…

An eagle-eyed CARmag.co.za reader has sent us a handful of images showing a fleet of disguised Audi models testing in Gauteng.

Reader Andrew Schlebusch snapped these photographs near Muldersdrift in the Kromdraai Valley.

All of the vehicles in the Ingolstadt automaker’s testing fleet seem to be wearing Northern Cape numberplates.

The group of photographed vehicles appears to include the new Audi A6 sedan, the new A7 Sportback (the second time we’ve seen them in South Africa), what looks like the upcoming S8 and what may just be the long-awaited, next-generation Q3.

The new A6 and A7 are expected to employ the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform, while the second-generation Q3 will likely run on the German automaker’s MQB underpinnings.

But before these three models are officially unveiled, Audi will reveal the new A8 in Spain in July 2017, with the flagship sedan leading the way with Audi’s new design language.
