I have no confidence in Audi stealerships...my first service , outside warranty...change the oil, spark plugs and a couple of filters...and also gave my a quote of 22.5k, excluding Vat and labour to replace mechatronics...as it was failing, oddly had not experienced any issues.

Anyways...thanks to so help from guys on here, was referred to German Auto Specialist.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/856797247741553/

was not the mechatronics, it was my clutch that was busy failing and has now failed....anyways, car is now in to replace it. How the hell they missed the clutch was going, is beyond me.

Thanks for the feedback, what's the damage for a clutch pack?

Damn, and that's just for the 1 clutch? Was this wear & tear or part failure? Apologies for the questions,

would assume its the whole bloody thing...lol....normal wear and tear...- checked, the clutch was replaced under warranty at 60k km...currently just over 121k km

Genuine part a R16k?
Labour charge was veryreasonable though .

Seeing its a clutch probably wear and tear.

yeah, would assume so....German Auto Specialist is truly a cut above anything else I have experienced, Shaun knows his stuff. You do not feel like an ass, asking questions.

Well I know for sure I am not spending 20k per clutch, I'd rather sell my car before that is an inevitability.

That should be both. Mine was done end of last year and it was around R18000 if I recall, but done under maintenance plan.

My clutches went at 90000kms and my mechatronic at 103000kms. I still believe that the mechatronic was the main culprit here, not shifting smoothly and causing damage to the clutches. If your clutches need replacement every 60000kms, you have to ask yourself... Why?

For those following... My contribution for the repair ended up being R1800. I am happy with that. Will never use one of the local dealerships again, while VW Table View has won a new client.

What do you guys think of making silver mag wheels black on a silver 2011 Audi A3? What is the best way to do this and then does it devalue the car if you were to trade it in like that?

You can plasti-dip them, that's removable but it starts coming off relatively soon, the best option is taking them to a mag shop/specialist and having them recoated black.

I personally wouldn't bother, time consuming, quite expensive and of dubious value.

But if you do really want black rims rather buy a full set of black rims, they can be fitted on the spot, keep the old rims and swop them back when you trade the car in, then sell black rims on gumtree.

Just google your car model plus colour/rims to see what it'll look like.

Yep....to be fair, was not made aware when I bought the car at 85k km..only saw the clutch replacement , after reviewing the online service history recently-.... Alas, lesson learned...already looking around for next upgrade. Long term plan was just to regularly service and maintain...
In the same breath, car was regularly serviced by Audi...should have picked up errors long before.

It is a stunner though but how collectable are they?

That being said, pretty recent, last 10-15yrs or so, limited edition Porsches go for eye popping amounts.

Hey guys.
Been looking at various cars recently, will probably be selling my Focus soon.
Found a 2014 A4, 1.8 TFSI SE with 50 000 kms.
What do you think is a good price for this? Dealer has it going for R280k.

Has rota rims, alcantra seats.
Auto gearbox.

Thanks.

Which auto? Multitronic (CVT) or S-tronic (DSG)?
