The Audi Thread

Good news, thanks!

Will share details if a deal is concluded...

No such thing as "if" dude. Only "when".
I got R26k off my deal 2 weeks ago and they even gave me the iPod cable gratis.
My A6 I got R35k off.

When they don't want to budge Judy "lose interest" and walk away. Few hours later you get a call ;)

Edit: If you don't get the call and you really want it - just do it!

Fork in the thread ahead:

Has anyone got any experience/annecdotes on the previous generation S6 (The V10 monster). It's always been on my secret wishlist of stupid purchases I shouldn't make. They are extremely rare, but when you do find one, they are generally under R300k, although with mileage near 100 000km. That engine is just stupidly awesome.

Lamborghini!

Nobody want my A6? :(

To be straight, the price has to be right. R199k is a dealer's price on your (stunning) car. I'd imagine dealers are offering around R140 - R150k trade. To find a buyer, you'll need to come down quite a bit. I would say around R170k would be very attractive.

I would have been keen, but I've decided to rather stick to my B7 for the time being and buy a (appreciating) property.

That is the dealer price, remember its all done through consignment:)

To my understanding, that is not how having a dealer facilitate a deal works. You advertise your car at your private price, and negotiate a cut for the dealer. Not so?

R199k is too high for a private deal.

The car is at a dealership parked there, they have my keys and everything related to the car. Ibjust have a reserve. If bought through them it's got CPA which it doesn't through me. They pretty much dealer stock the car and do all the work. No difference between their cars and my car

So then it technically makes it a sale through a dealer. Its not like you are selling privately and the dealer is putting it through their books to arrange finance.
If you were selling it privately(at a private sale price) and getting the dealer to facilitate financing then it would probably move faster.
At least with the way you are doing it the dealer will be trying to sell it on your behalf.

They allow me to bring a client in and remove a portion of their commission so the price stated is negotiable as long as I bring the client in myself...

I find of easier that way. I'm allowed to advertise the car at my price as well and they do their own advertising too.

If you don't want to sit with the car, you should find out exactly how much they will negotiate on R199k, and set that as your 'private' sale price.

My R0.02.
