Not to steal the convo, but gotta point out that the new TT is a very well put together piece of kit. I love the new steering wheel, and the virtual cockpit works incredibly well. Screw having two screens haha

So I take it the launch went well?

Was not at the official launch, simply the local dealer offering drives etc.
Yep, surprisingly good of a fit actually. No issues with roof height or legs, since the roof comes up nice and high in the front. Can't say I was very comfy in the back seat after switching with my friend though.....
But yeah, I can really see this car selling well. Great improvement over the old gen, and my doubts about the looks were destroyed. It really, really looks nice in person. Like, seriously you guys

Just got back from dinner with wifey. Had some fun coming home against some dude in a GTi and another in an M3. Made my night.
Single lane so no racing per se. More like "who can keep up". Was fun. And wifey didn't even try stop me

That is an EPIC car. It will be a while before you can buy a nice big V8 never mind a V10 they way engine design is going. Maintenance and running costs must be a nightmare, so I wouldn't want to have this for a daily drive, but if you can afford this for a Sunday car there is no reason not to pull the trigger.
I had a look at the RS6 pre-owned when I was in the market in 2011, but at R650k was out if my reach (might have been 2008 models as well). Could only afford R450 so went with A8.
But a V10 in the garage with e aim of never selling it, imagine in 20 years from now when we are all running sophisticated 1000cc and you still have this
Don't think running costs will be much worse than my RS4. I'll be daily driving it, one reason it's attractive is the safety, a lot of it coming from that 2ton body. Also I only live 10km from work, on a road with little traffic.
If I can get R250K I may just do it, my DRC was just done 6 months ago.

A lot of car for R400k!!! LOW mileage for a 2008!! Just over 15k a year!! I can see why you tempted...
Maintenance has the potential to be nightmarish but find yourself a decent local mechanic and it need not be. I use Sarel Snyman out in Krugersdorp, TorqueTuning. He knows what he is doing and won't rip you a new one!

I think it looks ridiculous. Audi's, even the high end performance versions, have always prided themselves on their understated look. Those doors are overkill and way too flash for an Audi....
