The Bafana Bafana Thread

Ethiopia beat Botswana 2-1. That means that Ethiopia lead the group on 10 points, and Bafana have 8. Botswana and CAR cannot qualify. This means that next Sundays match between Bafana and Ethiopia could be the decider. If Bafana lose, they will be eliminated. If we draw, then we will need to win our last match, and hope that Ethiopia draw or lose.

Ethiopia have won all 3 (1 was in the first round) of their home matches so far, but Bafana will simply have to beat them. If we win, then we will only need to match their result in September, and we get Botswana at home.

So that no one gets carried away, winning the group does not send Bafana to the world cup. They will still need to play another group winner, in a 2 legged tie, in October and November.
 
Comecon make us proud... Don't know if shabba got the MSG that SA could view the game as he clearly started playing once we could all see. Go Baf Baf
 
Showdown in Abbis Ababa. This will really test where the squad is at. Ethiopia are a pretty handy team of late, they play at altitude and South Africa has just won their first away qualifier in 8-years, so this will be a stern test. Win or bust.

Technically not away as the game was played on neutral venue. CAR didn't have the usual home ground advantage.
