The Bafana Bafana Thread

Only catching the second half of the game and must say the shortcoming from what I see is a lack of forward penetration.

Bafana get well supported in Cape Town I have to say - you are unlikely to see this kind of attendance in Gauteng at a Bafana match these days.

It finishes nil all. Bafana had a decent game but the strikers were isolated. Nigeria has always been a bogey team.

SA go 2nd in the group, with 4 points. Congo are top on 6. The top 2 are ensured qualification.

the guys balled last night I really like what shakes is doing, pity about rantie's miss

I liked the Furman/Jali/Vilakazi/Manyisa/Masangu setup. They can only get better. Haven't used traditional wingers in the past 2 games.

Good win. Horrible pitch though, they must not have levelled the surface properly before fitting that artificial grass, it took a long long time for either team to find their stride and make the game watchable

I wonder if Shakes feels some debt to the iron duke, at this rate they will have to change the team name to Bafana BaPirates lol.

2 away wins so far, things are really looking up. It was also a big day for Rivaldo Coetzee, he became the youngest ever Bafana player at 17 years and 360 days, beating out Aaron Mokeana.

Implications if we draw?

We will stay on top with 8 points and Congo go to 7. Nigeria won to go to 4 and Sudan are on 3. With that, a win against Sudan in November would send us through. That would put us on 11 points, and Nigeria could only get to 10. Congo could go to 13, but the top 2 both progress.

We still havn't conceded a goal in 4 games, we the only team that hasn't, besides senegal but they've only played 3.
