The Bafana Bafana Thread

Bafana drew 1-1 last night. The defence looked rather shakey, but I was glad to see the fight back after going 1 down after 6 minutes. Bafana didn't often come back from being scored againt.

Sibusiso Vilakazi scored in the 77th minuted to get the draw.

Thank you for the post. Was just wondering what happened. Good effort against a stronger side.

Bafana's final warm up match is against Mali today. Kick off is at 4pm, with coverage on SABC 1.

Starting XI:

Mabokgwane , Nhlapho,
Hlatshwayo, Ngcongca, Matlaba, Masango,
Furman, Jali, Phala, Vilakazi, Ndulula

At half time it's still 1-0. Hlatshwayo was the scorer though, not Ndulula. SABC coverage sucks.

It's end 3-0, a great result againts a solid team.

I was wrong before, Bafana have gone 12 games unbeaten; 10 under Shakes and 2 under GI.

How good would Furman's goal have been if he got it on the first time volley?
The guys look good, let's hope the form carries into the next few weeks

He and Jali work so well together in midfield. I was glad to see that Furman didn't sulk after Jali got the captaincy. Furman is a true professional.

I wonder what Pitso and GI are saying now...they used to say there are no players in South Africa to match the other players in the continent. Clearly they have been proven wrong, they should have just admitted they didn't know what they were doing.

@stepper, totally agree. Local players seem to have a lot more passion to play for the national side. Long may their successes continue.

Just curious, do all these warm-up matches count toward our FIFA Ranking or are there specific types of internationals which are considered? TIA

My kind of coach! If the dive like drama queens, as coach, I'd be giving them the red boot to bum!
