The Bafana Bafana Thread

As long as all the guidelines were followed then they will be official. I can recall two at the moment:
1. The number substitutes used must NOT exceed a certain agreed number
2. The ref must be fully FIFA accredited

Pretty much this, no more than 6 subs each, and both sides must agree that it's a full international. All 4 friendlies played since we qualified will count. Friendlies don't give many points though, a good AFCON run will help though.

Starting XI vs Algeria tonight:

Keet, Ngcongca, Matlaba,
Hlatshwayo, Coetzee, Furman, Jali, Manyisa,
Phala, Vilakazi, Rantie

This is Shake's biggest test yet. Playing Africa's top ranked team in a tournement match.

Kick off is at 9pm, with coverage on SABC 1 and SS 4.

Going to be good. Will set the tempo for our tournament. Heard someone say on the radio a draw will be our best hope... Hope he gets proved wrong.
Furman also back as captain

Shakes seems to have a different mind set to most.In an openning game, against the strongest team, most coaches would play a 5 man defensive midfield. Shakes looks set to.attack.

For me, it's all about Furman and Jali, and if they can control the game, we stand a good chance. A draw will be decent, but this group is so difficult.

So excited for this game, should be a cracker. Not sure if that last minute goal from senegal was a good result, i thought a draw may have been better to keep the teams close.

Shame for young Coetzee...hope its not too bad. Bafana getting more rhythm now after a slow start...must keep up the pressure

We should score in the second around. The Algerians find it difficult to deal with Tokelo's pace.
