The Banting/LCHF Thread

The fresh heads are crazy expensive now.

Used to pay R12 at Food Lovers. They are about R30 everywhere now.

Spar Manager told wife it is out of season :wtf:

But yeah. The frozen packs work just as well.

Had a killer loaded cauliflower yesterday again.

Currently on 86kg.. down from 95kg. My work colleagues are all commenting on my weight loss and more importantly I'm feeling so much healthier .. just another 10kg to go :)

'Grats. No carbs, no sugar, plenty of recommended fats?

R19.99 for broccoli, cauli and cauli-broc mixed prepacks at my Pick n Pay. I remember them being R12 too :( I guess this is the drought finally starting to kick in? Guess I'll have to downgrade to cabbage :p

I agree the fresh cauliflower heads are getting crazy expensive. We've also been buying the frozen packs lately.

I'm down to 91.5kg from 108kg, SO at 45kg from 53kg. We've been banting for 7 months with no exercise.

The SO's weight has been stagnent the last 2 to 3 weeks, but I am dropping half a kg every day. I usually pick up 1 to 2 kgs every other weekend due to cheating. (Not cheating on the SO, but on the banting)

Regarding this bulletproof coffee, do I just put a spoonful of butter into my black coffee? Or must I add some coconut oil?

Add coconut oil... and then mix in a blender. The blender mix creates a nice frothy head ;)

I make my bulletproof coffee with a tablespoon or more of coconut oil, tablespoon or more of butter, and a teaspoon of vanilla essence. I add milk as I can't stomach black coffee, yuk.
Chuck everything into a health shaker and shake it up, makes a nice froth on top and no need for a blender.

Bulletproof coffee? Been drinking mine black - 2 tsp coffee with 4/5 hot water and 1/5 cold to make it drinkable.

45kg? whaaaat? and she wants to lose more?

Is there a place in Pretoria where one can buy banting wraps or pitas?

Making some peri-peri chicken livers tonight and having it without some sort of "base" doesn't seem right.

Alternative options perhaps? What would you have with nice spicy and saucy chicken livers?

There is a little store next to woolies in furrow road equestria that sells a range on Banting products. Not sure about wraps though.
