The Banting/LCHF Thread

So the people that are doing the full Banting thing. Are u guys skin and bones yet ? Or does the weight loss stop at some point

You will get to a point where your body will self regulate, for me this is 84kg, I struggle to get below that

Did you try spinach leaves? Not quite the same but creates a decent enough form to hold the goods together.

I'll remember that for next time thanks.

Ended up having it just with a salad on the side because no Woolworths had wraps.

Maybe being picky here but when I was up in Jhb recently, struggled to find nice banting friendly stuff at woolworths there ( Greenstone and another ). There's quite a lot in Durban in all stores.

It pretty much moves off the shelves here as soon as they're stocked, that's the main problem

I dunno hey.

The Gift Acres, Grove and Newlands stores didn't even know what I am talking about.

Even showed them a picture from their website and they had no idea that they even sold it.

Parkview didn't have any stock and they had no idea when they would receive again.

I'll try the other store in Equestria but they are mad expensive. Was R90 for 4 x cauliwraps.

First, major ripoff, good lawd :wtf:
Secondly, order online, could have more luck than going around the shops :p

Indeed.

Yeah I will just have to plan better and stock up. This was a spur of the moment type of thing. Cravings, you know!

Aye, cravings can be inconvenient things :D I make sure every month to stock up on wraps and make pitas and a half dozen buns every 2 weeks and I'm sorted.

failry easy to make at home. I thought I didnt make mine so well, but then I checked at woolies waterfall and the texture and look were the same - i think it was R45 for 4 - way too much

Losing weight is not easy, but until banting came along, nothing had worked for me. I am so happy and healthy!!! I am ending my year on a high lean note!! And I am happy that I wear clothes that I like and not just those that fit!

are you still dropping or maintaining? i recall you went from 125 to around 90 - is that the end target for you? do you eat carbs now or still follow a banting program?

Not a full bantinger yet, but paving the way to start after the holidays..

So I bought some of this MCT oil from Dischem

When my ex-wife (Bsc Chem hons) asked why the interest in MCT, she mentioned her company imports the powdered version & got me a free sample. Labeled BASF Delios S Powder, which I've confirmed is medium chain triglyceride, but I have no idea how to use the powder instead of the oil.

Anyone?

Well, towards the end of November, I was at around 82. Started LCHF properly around the beginning of December and as of this morning, was 77.8.

So, yeah, it's working well.

ChromeSA sells some just past expired products for a really good price at their head office.

Everything is still closed and sealed.

I bought 3 jars of Macadamia nut butter for R60

powdered MCT, interesting

did some googling, couldn't find much info, but it seems to be very water soluble and flavour and odourless so you could just mix it with water, or for some flavour try full cream milk

I think the challenge is around concentration and so far I haven't really looked for that kind of info, I would suggest try a couple of days with half a teaspoon and then go for a full teaspoon, or see if you can find info on equivalence between liquid and powdered form
