I had something over the weekend that made me think of you guys - "pasta" made of tofu skin. The tofu skin comes in thin sheets that you can slice into strips like fettuccine. You slice it and then boil it in salted water for 2 or 3 minutes before mixing it in with your pasta sauce. You can get it at chinatown in Cyrildene for R18 a pack and it serves 4. Was actually quite delicious. soy-yuba-tofu-skins.jpg

I visited the banting market over the weekend. Got some nut flours, salami, had some ice cream, bought some banting bread premix... will definitely go again.

Anyone else lost the urge to drink booze?

I really have no urge anymore. Occasionally I will have a Coke Zero if I go to a restaurant but never order alcohol anymore. Was in JHB 2 weekend's ago and my old man convinced\pressured me into having 2 double vodka's and Coke Zero before a show at Montecasino - I felt PROPERLY naar after those even after eating supper. Only after a cappuccino inside the Teatro did I start feeling good again.

I do vodka and Sprite Zero occasionally. Didn't drink for a couple of months before April, only had a couple this month.

I still like drinking Castle Light or a glass of wine. Only problem is that my tolerance is crazy low these days, so unless it's a big evening I usually drink half a bottle of Castle Light or about 100ml of wine.

I'm still drinking Whisky and water on weekends, but I also noticed my tolerance is low. Also, I think I'm drinking less.

Aaaaaaaaaand it tastes like cocunut and cauliflower. And falls apart like a mofo.

I'd rather stick with a lekker slaaitjie, baie dankie.
Just ate the last 2 slices from my last premix loaf I froze.

Will do a photo session when baking the next loaf this week - it is awesome.

I tried this recipe out today, but used 1 cup of almond flour and half a cup of coconut flour (more nutty less coconutty) and it came out delicious!

Just note this has a more cake flavour, like savoury banana bread. Unfortunately without sugar, even honey, you simply cannot activate yeast and will never have that true bread flavour. Nutiness makes up for it though!
