"Science had a look at it" :D

Afaik it's due to the fat, not the protein. Fats full you up quicker, and keep you full for longer.

Check out the documentary on Youtube. I stumbled onto it. Will try get a link from home tonight. I found it pretty damn interesting. Adkins diet: The truth or something to that effect  Scientific studies into the diet vs other, why it works when science said it shouldn't and so on. They even had 2 identical twins in confinement to try and see WTF makes this diet work :D

But there is evidence that shows extra high levels of protein intake can damage kidneys. That and the fact that high protein intake can activate an insulin response after it is converted to glucose...

Stick with medium protein, high fat.

so now we doing a LC MP HF diet! which is kind of a perfect description of what most of us are following

Atkins is not a LCHF diet, it is a high protein diet, not sure what they advocated in the documentary.

Well it was based on the Adkins diet. Apologies, I just assumed it's also a LCHF diet  The research was on the fact that Protein had a significant result when pared with other diets and they just could not figure out why as it goes against science. But in the end with all the studies and test subjects the jury was in: It's due to your body feeling fuller longer and this people consume less and burn excess fat. That's the short of it.

So I'm back from my Namibian trip and I have gained 3kg in 8 days. :crying:

Did you stay LCHF or stray?

At the end of Jan, I spent a week in CPT and stayed on the wagon but enjoyed 3 Burger King burgers. Got home on exactly the same weight.

Dear lord I miss burgers and fries. Not junkfood, proper good homemade burgers and slapchips.
