The Banting/LCHF Thread

Why do you say it's nonsense?
By the way, I hate the taste of my coffee with cream. I'd rather use full fat milk.

Because I haven't seen evidence to the contrary. If you don't like the taste of cream, leave it out, the milk too. Milk is high-ish in carbs.

I've made a good few things from the LC is Lekker book now and I'm very impressed. Really glad to have found it, it's making things a helluva lot easier. Very recommended once again.

Is there an alternate to almond flour? Other than coconut flour...

Not that I am aware of. Remember that carbs in coconut flour are also much higher than almond flour...

Oh wait, my pizza bases are made from macadamia nut flour but I have never seen the flour for sale on its own and it would be a course flour because if you grind it down too far, it becomes butter

Thx, that really cuts out alot of "treats" unfortunately...

Where do you get the pizza base from?

What kind of treats are you being sad about x S1 x? There are quite a few things you can make to lessen the pain a bit.

Can you recommend something to lessen the pain of cleaning up after LCHF?

The kitchen's a mess after all the frying :(

Lol yeah I feel that pain ...... lots of dishes is the bane of the banting existence :p

Lol, no not sad :) have tried a few things out...

But just about most cake/tart recipes I've seen call for almond flour...

Yeah pretty much all of them do. I've seen a few with just dessicated coconut but it's like 2 or 3 things. Any reason you're against the almond flour, allergic maybe?

try macadamia nut flour, really nice and comes a bit finer as well. is your wife allergic to nuts?
if so then the mac flour wont work  then your gonna have to get those isolate flours
soy isolate etc wont really find them in SA will have to get from UK, working on getting some
in myself. supposed to be able to make much better bread than the nut flours.
