The Banting/LCHF Thread

Example: my whole life, when going on holiday I would have this urge inside just to eat and eat without restraint. First stop would be a Spar to load a trolley from the sweet and chip isles. This last holiday in Cape Town I merrily walked along the isle while my wife chose contraband for her and my daughter while I was quite happy to take 2 slabs of Lindt 85% and some packets of nuts.

Completely new experience for me.
nah,I don't have that problem....been Banting very strictly since November last year with damn good results.

Was kidding about a reward system....but I'll be lying if I say I don't sometimes miss a burger for example. So like today I've decided to make one. Next burger might be in 3 months.

@fanie, I don't think of this as a diet...have been long enough on LCHF that my body is use to it.
Hunger is not something I struggle with anymore
 
I've noticed after a week on this eating plan I'm battling with constipation the last day or 2.

Up your fibre. Psyllium husk is a good source. Casalotti's cauliflower pizza has a lot in it...

Been here. Fix for me was plenty of water all day, every day. One day I was naughty and didn't drink water regularly. Guess what happened that evening.

I do drink a lot of water, at least 2.5 litres a day. Maybe I'll have to drink more.

Nooooo, 2.5l is plenty - you can overdo the water (google it).
Sounds like you need fiber - up your veg intake. Its too easy to forget about the fiber and micro nutrients on lchf. Nibble fresh veg in between meals.

Will try the veggies. I've been drinking this amount of water daily for the last few months, not only when I started this eating plan a week ago.
 
I see fat fanie is becoming non fat fanie good good! My weight loss has stalled, personally I think its been too much wine lately. Going to cut down on it this week and get my fat ass into weight lifting again

:D non fat is bad on keto mmmkay, haven't you learned anything yet? :p
 
So I weight this morning and I have only lost about 1.8kg. Was hoping for bit more. Maybe it will go better this week.
