The Banting/LCHF Thread

I had two castle lites yesterday, and stayed in ketosis (4 grams of carbs in total). Not bad.

How was the pizza fani. Would you recommend it again?

To be honest the one I made at home was a lot better. It was less soggy, as Kingbel reported. Mine even had less of a cauliflower taste. But to be honest the whiskey and flu medicine I had before dinner made me feel a little intoxicated and a little grumpy :(

It was quite filling. Didn't finish the pizza, and hardly touched the salad.

Had this at Colcacchio's in Big bay, was burnt to a cinder and tasted crap, cost over hundred bucks for a 20cm.

At least you get a greek salad with it though.

so the US finally starting to slowly admit they may have got something wrong with nutritional guidelines

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/02/10/feds-poised-to-withdraw-longstanding-warnings-about-dietary-cholesterol/

I have been following the Twitter chatter amongst leading LCHF champions and this is a great step.

Hopefully this leads to the death of statins. Mom was put on because she has "high cholesterol" even though doc did not do an in depth test - just finger prick. After months of pain she binned the statins and feels much better (post menopausal woman are very low risk of CVD).

Now I have one of my staff who has been walking around like he is dying. "Statins because of high cholesterol" he says after I asked what is wrong with him.

Stuff is bad news!

The greater danger in this regard, these experts believe, lies not in products such as eggs, shrimp or lobster, which are high in cholesterol, but in too many servings of foods heavy with saturated fats, such as fatty meats, whole milk, and butter.
how is this right?
