If you aiming for 20 to 30g of carbs then you can't eat something like i just did. Creamy leeksYeah, they are.
I always thought onions, bell peppers and tomatoes were on the orange/"eat in moderation" list, but it seems some low carb people put them on their "green list".

I can't remember what the most accurate way of telling is, but what always gets me is when I'm already knocked out and my body tries to get all low carb adapted again and I get the lovely keto flu. Motivation enough to not cheat

(From what I've read) If you're banting and getting lots of headaches, it's almost always not enough electrolytes (sodium, magnesium and potasium in particular). The biggest culprit for this seems to be not enough salt: especially if you're drinking water more often and/or going to the bathroom more often, your body needs more sodium to make up for the difference.
Off the top of my head, spinach, avocado and mushrooms are all high in at least one of those three I mentioned earlier, as is chicken broth.
what's the quickest/easiest way to get into ketosis?
Cut out carbs. Some people say exercise helps, and MCT Oil. but I've never been into making sure I was in ketosis. I keep my carbs very low.
I keep my carbs low as well, but I don't think I'm in ketosis... been reading now and i might be eating too much meat, everything else seem on track to get me into ketosis.
Gonna get some ketostix just to be sure.
I tracked my macros for a long time. After a while I knew what I should be eating and wasn't as militant.

Hi guys, I am starting to have a serious problem with my sugar levels. I am a diabetic and am using insulin. I have been banting for about 10 weeks now and have lost 7kg. I have been adjusting (lowering) my insulin intake gradually. I am now using 75% of what I was using before I started on this new eating plan.
My problem is I have cut out almost all sugars and my sugar levels are dropping too low (to about 2 mmol) mainly between breakfast and lunchtime. What would be safe to eat to up my sugar level? For breakfast I usually have 1 or 2 boiled eggs about 8am. Then another boiled egg or 2, or leftover supper between 11 and 12.
