The Banting/LCHF Thread

Got a nice surprise in the (online ordered, delivered shopping) shopping bags the other day. 3 Huge fresh heads of Broccoli. I only realised after the delivery van had gone, so decided that a soup would be best out of them.

Made a Broccoli and cheddar soup, with crispy bacon bits and double cream mixed in. It was a hot day though, so soup was not exactly the best idea. I cannot wait for winter when I can whip out the blender and soup recipes in earnest.

Welkom. 13 maande vir my en ek kyk nie terug nie.

Since I started banting, my self regulation prevented me from over eating. That was until I discovered banting chocolate mousse. :wtf:
There are tons of recipes, but the last one contained cream, egg whites, cocoa, xylitol. I just cannot stop.

Hmmmm we use just cream, cocoa and xylitol, it is a very addictive dessert.

I have achieved my weight loss targets and exceeded them, but now I would like to get rid of remaining stomach fat. How do I do that? I hate GYM btw...

I have two questions
Besides broccoli and water what else helps with digestion? Cheapest option
My father is a diabetic and he's been Banting for the past week or so. Is this a good thing?

Have to reduce your bodyfat. If you're staying on banting then it should happen organically.

Anyone else find they get a flat week? Had my second one last week since starting, no scale weight loss but still feel less and the the following week is normally double loss, almost like a catchup.

Noakes was on the radio this morning driving to work. He said he estimates that 50% or more of the population is pre-diabetic. He mentioned a test that you can do...something someting blood glucose blah blah test. If your test approaches 6 then you are pre-diabetic. A study they did in Bellville Cape Town I think it was turned out that about 50% of people tested in the pre-diabetic range. That is scary.

Depressing, but I'm not surprised at all. I've lost track of how often I've seen people with a pie in one hand and a coke in the other, at 7 in the morning. If they're starting their day eating like that, it's no wonder their pancreas just get gatvol with all the blood glucose/insulin spikes and give up

Pie and a coke that still half ok i see ppl line up infront of KFC in the morning with the mini loaf and milllllions of chicken pieces
and a 500 coke.

I cheated. Bought two burgers from Spar Diner .... had one now and the other is for tonight. I could not help myself. I JUST HAD TO HAVE A BURGER!!!!!!!!! :o

Haha, don't feel so guilty about it :D Remember, eating healthy is a marathon, not a sprint. Eating something you're not supposed to once in a while isn't going to kill you. If you end up going through keto flu again afterwards, just remember to up your electrolytes!

Drop the bun and wrap it in lettuce, problem solved
