The Banting/LCHF Thread

Congrats!

To be honest, while I think that's awesome, please watch out for your knees.. 145kg is still a bit heavy for impact exercise like running.. If you want to exercise maybe try swimming, it'll be a lot better. Or even lift - squats/deadlifts.

I tried running at 130kg. Got shin splints on my first try... which was also my last try. :(

The natural flavours of fillet? bwhahahaha pull the other one.

Haha I know what you mean.. Fillet isn't usually my first choice either, but if you're going to use sugar then you may as well use a much cheaper cut.

and you don't even want to know what i paid :( :(

I was looking for the tenderness of the fillet... the sugar will be awesome ons something with a fatty crust... yellow sugar even better

I only do fillet two ways -

on the braai with a paprika and xylitol powder rub
chopped up with onions, fried in a pan with cream added

...... think I'll have to do fillet tonight now

Add paprika to all the things! Also coriander and cumin!

I have some cheap pork shank pieces at home waiting for me, they've been in the slow cooker since 7am

My aim is to run against my son 1km at the end of the year - he is a runner, I don't know why or where he gets it from....anyhow dna testing another day :)

I also get bad shin splints and I die around 350 meters, but I will get there.
If you get shin splints, try curling your toes around a step, around 30 seconds down then 30 seconds up, repeat, or do the towel toe curl..

You guys can do it! Keep it up. Maybe you can try the C25k? Couch to 5km. lots of apps out to help you get started

those are the best, much droolage

I don't like the taste of pork, yet on some days I would kill for ribs and bacon, go figure. I wanted for ages to try pulled pork and recently when I did it was  . I have the same reaction to lamb, the flavour, just not for me.

hmmm, had a look, interesting thanks. I will have to adjust their program, to week -1 and week 0 to build up to week 1, but cool, it will help.

:wtf: no pork AND no lamb ...... ouch

Well had a work function last few days and hit the alchohol a bit.

My drink of choice on Banting ( still not recommended though ), Cpt Morgan Black and diet coke. Thing is , ran out of coke so switched to Sprite Zero and it was actually pretty good!
