The Banting/LCHF Thread

I'm back. Put 10kg's on. On the wagon since Monday this week with the Egg Fast to get fat adapted ASAP. Today I had some biltong after 2 days of no meat - tasted like heaven!

I am hoping to have lost all 10kg's by the end of the month. I will include some intermittent 24hr fasting from next week.

I ate "all the things" over xmas :(

fanie is that you?

:p

well I ate a whole FlashSA according to my clothes.... was crapping on my wife to pull some of my old shirts out of the black bags

I gave all of my bigger sized clothes away for this reason. If I get to the point where my wardrobe starts fitting, it's time to starve. I will NOT buy XXL again!

So what did everyone binge on during the holidays.

I ate a whole carrot cake during xmas day.

Know the feeling, gave mine away as well but need to seriously shop for some new shorts :(

Castle Lite with lime (CASES!)
Quality Street (it's a xmas thing)
McDonalds (too many chicken McMuffin's)
Pizza (too much Debonairs)
Mince pies (Xmas to blame again)
Toast with night before braai on top (because bread + toasted)

I could go on

What do you chaps do for lunch? This is always a struggle for me. I miss the convenience of a sarmie or a take-away from the shop.

Same here.... lunch, and side dishes.

For lunch I take either left overs from the previous night, or I pack a box of Salami, cheese, cream cheese and 2 boiled eggs.

If I do eat breakfast (bacon and eggs) and don't do lunch. For the most part I only try to eat twice a day.

Either fatty biltong + cheese

or

Seed crackers (buy from Dischem) with thick butter+cheese or butter+liver spread

I eat brunch and supper most days - no breakfast

I was pretty disciplined this whole festive season. In fact made some of my best progress with my cut during that time. Did however plan for a bit of a cheat/refeed on Christmas day itself.

Subsequent result was a few intimate moments with these freshly baked bad boys.

Slapped on an extra thick layer of butter, gammon and mom's sweet mustard. Followed by a few with fig jam.

So i was actually wondering the other day (and then I got too lazy to look for this thread to ask the question) what's the quickest way one can get your body into keto mode?

Fasting and aerobic exercise.

I prefer IF, so no lunch.

I also only eat twice a day, mostly brunch and dinner. Never left overs in this house though :(

Leftovers or salad with protein.

I was doing this when I first started, was also having salad as a braai side. I guess I need to add a bit of variety to my salads.

Haven't had biltong in ages, looks like biltong and cheese for today's lunch :)

Similar to what Fanie said.

If available, I will include left overs. But the norm this week was boiled eggs, piece of cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), handful of biltong or dry wors. This has been enough to keep the hunger cravings away until dinner.

I am having normal brewed coffee at breakfast.
