The Banting/LCHF Thread

Minimal peanut butter taste, was fine, especialy with nice butter on top. What brand of pb did you use? Wife used Yum Yum.

Woolworths no sugar one. I dont mind trying the recipe with macadamia nut butter.

Play around but even through the Yum Yum has sugar/carbs, according to fat secret, it's 2g per tbsp so that makes it 6g per "loaf" of bread.

Excluding the eggs and baking powder.
*edit* still works out low for the whole loaf ( 0.4g per egg and about 1g or so for tsp of powder )

It meant to come across as "the bread tastes even better when macadamia nut butter is used instead of peanut butter"
Well. First of, is waaay cheaper than macadamia nut butter. Secondly, I schit you not, but there wasn't even a hint of peanut butter taste, even though you could smell it while it baked

I play around a bit with the peanut butter bread recipe.
Various combos work, for eg last experiment was with macadamia butter and cream cheese mix, one of the better breads I have made.
Cream cheese and peanut butter also make for a good bread, I usually buy the black cat sugar free.

I've been trying to resist the peer pressure, but when I went to Spar yesterday they had peanut butter on special so... we'll see what happens when it comes out of the oven in half an hour :D

Just had two slices of the bread with cheddar. One slice of cheese each on top, popped in micro for a minute to melt. Damn was nice to have melted cheese on bread again.

I made a new inventions !

100g double cream thick yoghurt
add 15g blended almonds and spring over the yoghurt,
add 80g chopped fresh straweberries
then over the top of all that add 60ml of fresh cream !

yum!

dont forget if you want to make quick rolls - take the same recipe, but a third - so one tablespoon peanut butter (sugar free) one egg, about a third teaspoon baking powder, beat in a cereal bowl and microwave for 90 seconds - perfect banting roll for burgers etc in under 2 minutes.

Just tried this for the first time. Amazing tip thanks. Tastes much better than any other banting bread I've tried. And texture just like bread. Good stuff
