The Beard Styling and Suggestions Thread

a whole page of hooking up in the beard thread ..... oh for some actual moderation on Mybb

I use TCB's products and one of their beard smiths and then my hair with someone else.

TCB: http://thecaptainsbeard.co.za/

imho vastly superior to buffels fontein. I used to follow the silver saint for beard tips on YT but hes going into more of life stuff.

Currently working towards medium to long with slick back. I've found this to work better than a bun and long beard (of course as any decent beard smith will tell you its a process and doesn't happen overnight, and results may differ):

Normal beard care should include:
1. At least once week beard conditioner
2. Washing with beard shampoo
3. Shower brush to exfoliate (I use Michel Mercier Detangler for this in combination with another brush)
4. Daily oiling (combination of TCB oils and Amla Gold Hair Oil)

For oiling I use one of two methods:
1. Few drops into my hands, rub hands to heat up oil and then carefully and thoroughly adding it to my beard.
2. Fillup dropper; then in a line above your beard line draw a line of oil. This will then start to trickle down into the beard and over your skin. When the first drop falls out, I start to brush downwards a few times making sure I make contact with the skin but not to hard. Then same upwards so you fully cover your skin under the beard and the beard itself.

Of course do not over-brush or over-finger your beard it causes breaks but if you do not brush you will get tangles and beard-druff (why you need to exfoliate before oiling).

Finally remember to touch your skin under your beard in small circles when you apply the shampoo or conditioner. This is basically first step of exfoliation.

Lol. I have multiple beard and hair detanglers. The trick is to get something that works for your beard without getting stuck, too small or to large. Any kind of brushing should be a slow and gently act, exactly as with long hair; its not a rush job or erratically brushing out the koeke.

Then you just **** up your beard. On this note... remember to trim out the split ends or your beard hair starts dying from the ends to the roots.

Ok not a beard man by choice but for convienience. Hairy guy. Blades are expensive. Every 2nd week trimmed it down with a shaver. No products, too expensive. Edging twice a week.

My beard grows quickly and I have no patches at least not since my early twenties.

I just use a cheap shampoo to keep it intact. Maybe I'll try one of those oils. Usually I have enough food grease on them to keep them shiny
Question (@Snyper564), coconut oil? Is this the same coconut oil people use with the Banting recipes or is there a special beard edition?

Yes the very same. You can even add a few drops of essential oils from Dischem to give it a sandlewood or citrus scent for example. But works like a bomb and is so oooo cheap!
