Okay I have a few quick questions...

1.) Is there a major difference between shaped and unshaped with SAIX on a Home 512 connection? If yes, what kind of differences are we talking?

2.) If I signed a 2 year contract with Telkom's bundle and I moved houses... do I need to cancel the contract or can they just re-install it at the new place with a usual R440 installation fee?

3.) I'm really looking at the Home DSL512 Bundle @ R500p/m with SAIX 10GB Shaped @ R600p/m... do any of you have it or can give any comments on the above package?

Also... whats the modem that telkom offers in the bundle like? Is it crap?

1 - yes there is a difference but the impact depends on the protocol you want to use. Got to ask yourself if its worth the extra money. My advice - start off as low as possible - speed too - and upgrade if necessary.

2 - yes. But why sign a 2year contract? Modems and routers are cheaper than your soul.

Shop around - they're pretty easy to find. I'd suggest getting a router instead of a USB modem even if they cost a little bit more.

if you're going to be moving then don't take the contract. you will have to cancel then re-apply for one methinks. if you're staying put then no problem getting the contract.
