If you're interested in 3d modelling, sculpting, rendering, uv editing and all things cg - I think it's fair to say blender is one of the best free apps ever made. Over the years its various components have felt a bit disjointed, but it feels far more cohesive now and the interface improvements are really nice.

It's an amazing creative playground and its all free. The amount of tutorials is staggering.

Used it very briefly over the past few days. UI improvements\changes are quite impressive.

I love how geek this gets. Like, I love just looking at the interface - being able to drag new windows into view and set their frame and function independently means you're able to view this digital playground simultaneously from multiple viewpoints. It's a lot of fun to use.

Only thing I knew about blender was they use it to measure PC performance
