Meh giving tank values is a conversation ruiner.
I get 1400km* on a standard tank with a Toyota Prado 4L v6 petrol that weighs over 3 tons :p
Body not sexy at all, unless you like big boned vehicles

*this is 120km/h highway, majority down hill/flat road, 180L standard tank

You get 1400km* from a 180L tank? Feels like your car could make a Grand Cherokee SRT blush.

Oh no. The 320i in the E90 was horrible. Engine is so pap and efficiency is not even average.

The F30 320i was much better. Not that efficient but much more punch.
 
For the drives I do, I have no issues with the diesel consumption on my 320D.
Aircon full blast and certain speeds that need to be maintained, like I said no issues.
 
have had the G20 320d since it was launched.
There is nothing to fault on it, not exactly a car to excite the senses but it does what it needs to do.

I drove the m340 recently and its very good, even if a little expensive for what it is.
I want to get something more exciting but just cannot justify the extra expense on insurance, payments and petrol.

Will probably keep this car for a while

Would you be willing to step down a generation to a well specced 340i?

I wouldnt. The 340 is a nice car but I get what I need enough from the 320D that it isnt a huge difference. While the 340 is faster, it never excited me.
The M340 is a different car altogether and felt alot more special, definitely an upgrade

I have owned the F30 and G20 and the gap between them is significant.
This is taking into account what would normally be expected in a new generation car, the gap is still bigger than expected.
The interior jump is high and finally feels like a decent interior.
The overall ride is greatly improved as well as build quality.
Engine feels almost identical
 
I have def seen the E90 320d in wagon form a good few times, this was at a time period when wagon sales were still something in this country. The pre-LCI mostly, by the time the E90 LCI came around the wagon was still offered locally but seen less frequently.

The F30 & G20 wagons were never brought into SA.
 
How old are you guys?

I want to know how many years I have left before fuel economy is the thing about a car that gives me the most joy.
Does this happen before or after you start freezing loaves of bread and sachets of milk?
