The BMW 320d Fanboy Thread

Manual 330d m-sport with idrive, very rare these days!

The 118i needs to go and I Would like a 320d or 330d (E90 realistically) but my budget is on the short end of the spectrum.

Would appreciate any potential leads.

Edit: actually, any nice diesel would do. Budget is a hard cap of R200K.

You can get a lot of E90/E91 for that money.

An E91 Touring 320d would be the cat's whiskers for me. The only thing that put me off was the lack of a spare wheel. Runflats are quite up there in terms of cost.

Tourings are so rare, and when you do find one it’s either a combination of the wrong engine or unfortunately beat up.

Funny enough there was a nice looking A5 2.0TDI I went to have a look at. Doesn’t look bad, but not too thrilled about it. It’s over budget anyway.

I have found that the few examples I've seen are also a very popular car with the...er, 'tuning' crowd. Half of them slammed, with tinted headlights and the rear wiper deleted. Bonus points if they have obnoxious stickers plastered all over the rear window.

Personally, I like the BMW diesels more than the VAG diesels. What about the A5 didn't sit right with you? The B8 A4 is also well within your budget, but I'm not sure if you are specifically looking at sedans or sportbacks or wagons or whether you have no preference. I'm personally not a huge fan of the B8's looks but I understand that they are a popular model regardless and are a big improvement over the B7 in many ways. Just something about the dashboard that doesn't sit well with me.

Its nice and all but if you looking for one I would suggest after the 2015 refresh
Better gauge cluster and updated interior - Esp engines are better postfacelift.

E90 is an old car now - go for an LCI and do your homework with service history.
