It would better suit my needs and more economical, but after driving the 330D for the last couple of years, I think not. Think I am seduced by the power. LOL

Maybe now. When I was buying, I just could not lay my hands on a good 320D. Everyone I tested had some issue.
Nothing mechanical, but mods I don't want and just general abuse.
Anyway, will not be buying anytime soon. Kid going to University, Installed Solar system. So other priorities now.

Ive owned both 320d & 330d variants, just my 2c:

1. In general 330d's will be better specced, so you are bound to lose some features
2. Better the devil you know - dont sell a car where are are familiar with the service history / known issues for something thats unknown. Most 2018 320d's will be out of plan anyway, so its not like you are buying peace of mind.
3. Further to point 2. All the engines variants in 320d & 330d from the E90 shape to date have proven to be extremely reliable, if looked after properly.
3. 2018 320d will be LCI which is "better" - however the pre-LCI F30's had way less issues than the E90 & E46 counterpart, including cosmetic upgrades. Even going from 320d pre LCI to LCI, the differences are marginal.
4. The biggest (and in my opinion only) difference will be better fuel economy. How long do you have to drive a 320d to save a liter per 100km here and there to make up for the new purchase? Not worth it.
5. If you have a "new car itch", go and get your 330d gearbox serviced @ ZF, then load XHP software. Followed by fitting a downpipe and load software. It will feel like a new car, and wont break the bank.

You should keep it , BMW are well known for their straight 6ers if you look after it, it will look after you.

Personally after owning 2 BMW straight 6ers and 1 inline 4 , even after driving a G20 320D.

There is just this smooth way a 6 cylinder delivers power that no 4 cylinder I have driven does it, This was one of the reasons that made me pick a 3.0Tdi over a 420D - that sound, effortless power, torque in any gear
If I found a 530D in good condition I would seriously consider that as well - I am team 3.0 (BMW, Audi) all the way :p
