So, something to have checked on your next service if you own a 3XXd... Diesel inlet pipes. Apparently prone to some wear. Mine ruptured yesterday spewing diesel like the Exxon Valdez.

Still cannot complain though, this is the only problem the car has ever given me in 5 years.

there is a recall campaign on the go at the moment, not sure if its related, mine moans at me each time i start now, that it needs to go in
 
Also, feedback from a previous post of mine.....
if you have EDC shocks (adaptive)...or are looking for a 3xx model with adaptive shocks.......hope they dont fail/leak etc.... as they are R20k each :D
I had to replace 2.......ouch.

Similar pricing for air shocks on vw, luckily down own one with air shocks!

Update, 24 hour wait on part, R3 500 for the pipe. Back up and running like a champ.

I'm trying to picture where this pipe goes but I'm coming up short. Perhaps the pipe between the filler cap and the fuel tank?

Either side of this unit is a pipe on the right side of the engine (facing it)

Oh I see now, so it's a pipe that links up to the fuel pump - glad it was a quick fix.

BTW - when are you having your car decatted?

Diesel, no cat involved. Only a self cleaning Diesel particulate filter and a EGR which can be cleaned.
