The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Ok. I'm on Takealot right now and I'm about to buy some different 1kg Nutritech protein powders. I want to buy 1. A Casein, slow release to drink before bed and 2. Premimum Pure Whey.

Which flavours do people prefer?

For the Pure Whey: Choc Mint, American Ice Cream Soda, Cinnabomb, Cookies and Cream
For the Slow release Casein: American Ice Cream Soda, Choc Mousse, or Cookies and Cream Sunday

And do you have experience blending any of them with fruit, veg, etc?

My preferences...

I enjoy the cream soda, nutritech mixes really well very creamy although I have not blended it with anything.

Could barely taste Cookies and Cream, Ice Cream Sunday is way too sweet and the Vanilla is a bit sweet too, the chocolate is subtle as well.

I usually buy Chocolate or Vanilla. Easy flavours to disguise, I usually just add cinnamon or a half a tea spoon of Nomu Skinny hot chocolate, a half a teaspoon has 1.6C 0.5P 0.25F so that is perfect.

I love the cinnabomb.

And for Casein I always go with Choc. It is sweet but I like it as a dessert.

Thanks for the suggestions, all.

I've been using Evox vanilla (either the usual whey or synergy). It is just ok, with the Synergy tasting the worst. I definitely have to blend it with fruit to to make it taste thick, creamy, and good.

It's time now to experiment. I decided to buy the Choc Mousse Casein and the American Ice Cream Soda Whey.

I think all these supplements are just a money spinner. I won't spend a cent on that kack. It's useless if you don't juice.

So guys, anyone know anything about why my left arm might be getting tight during curls?

My right arm is a lot bigger than my left - like I know we all have slight differences but there's legit about an inch diff.

When training my left forearm and the tendon by my elbow where the forarm and bicep meet gets really tight and stiff. So much so that I can't 100% straighten my left arm at the end of my workout.

Also when I flex my left arm it doesn't feel properly engaged, the bicep I mean, it feels like a 90% flex instead of 100%.

Weird AF tbh.

I'm not sure that 'juicing' in particular is important. But I do agree that protein powders aren't necessary. You can get all the protein, as well as other vitamins and minerals from eating whole foods. My issue is that i'm having a hard time getting all the protein I need unless I eat a f**kload of meat. While I do eat meat everyday, from an ethical and environmental point of view i'm having a hard time justifying eating so much just for the sake of body-building. Hence, i'm trying to supplement with protein powder to assuage my conscious.

I agree with Fox. I try to get around 120g of protein every day which tbh isn't that much even. Meat is pretty expensive and shakes are convenient.

So yeah, you don't gotta juice to make use of whey protons

I have this same thing. This is more than likely because I never swap hands during deadlifts (one hand reverse grip). I notice it, but nobody else does.

Get Mike Chang's sixpackshortcuts eating guide. Whole food blows protein shakes out of the water. And no fat gains if you're doing the fibre right.

Pokements... gotta catch em all!
This industry is full of crock. Just saying.
Pre-workout for flat days... otherwise eat well. Get plenty Omegas if you want to increase EPA / blood oxygenation.

Im also in the anti supplement crowd. Its a waste and your body cant process that powder properly which is why you go to the loo more often. Also your body can only use a certain amount of protein to rebuild itself and that number is nowhere near 2g protein/ kg bodyweight /day.

Does anyone know of any home testosterone test that one can buy and use?I want to see how my levels fluctuate during the day and also graph my min/max values over a certain period in order to better time a workout or to see whether sex increases or decreases levels.
