The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Which is better. Low weight more reps or the other way around.

From what I understand a combination of both is the best way to go.

So say your chest - train low weight high volume one day and the next time you train chest use high weight low volume...

etc...

Due to work and school load I've been gyming at least 3 days a week (an hour and 15 mins each day) recently. Here's my routine, in this order.

Tuesday: Chest and Back (supersets)
1. Flat barbell press 3*10
Wide-grip pull ups, *3 to failure
2. Incline Barbell Press 3*10
Chin-ups, *3 to failure
3. Decline Dumbell press 3*10
Barbell Rows 3*10
4. Cable cross-overs, *3 to failure
Seated Cable Rows 3*10
5. Dumbell pullovers 3*12

Wednesday: Legs then Abs
1. Squats 3*10
2. Lying Leg Curls 3*10
3. Leg presses 3*10
4. Weighted Calf raises, *4 to failure
Then abs i just do what comes to mind:D

Thursday: shoulders and then Arms (bi- and tricep supersets)
1. Standing Military Presses 3*10
2. Close-grip barbell press, *3 to failure
Standing barbell curls, *3 to failure
3. Seated Dumbell Skullcrushers *3 to failure
Dumbell Hammer Curls *3 to failure
4. Seated Incline Curls *3 to failure
Dumbell Kickback *3 to failure
5. Triceps Pushdown with rope *3 to failure
Bicep Rope Hammer Curl

Definitely enjoying it!
Anything you guys think I might add or alter my routine

First proper session since my minor "injury" a week and a half ago.

Back held up really nice. Although I did drop my deadlift weight to 90kg. Will rather start lower again and progress to my regular weight slowly.

Even a week and a half of down time really eats into your fitness/strength. Could only manage 3 x sets of 12 with pull ups. Previously could manage 3 x 16 and another 2 x 10.

Nothing is ever easy.... :(

Depends on your goals, age and training technique.

Stick to that routine for 3 months with good nutrition and then change it up.

I took a month off and I jumped back in this week

weighted pull up 15kg 5x5
close grip weighted pull up 12kg 5x3
weighted dips 15kg 5x5
overheard press 40kg
bodyweight rows 3x10
deadlift

has anybody ever gotten these before (not me in the pic I'm black :P) my girlfriend spotted them this morning and she was worried

those are form the barbell I would assume? pretty normal but she can use the girly pad if it's a real issue :P

Generally get that from the calf raise machine thing - the pads that you rest on your shoulders leave those marks behind.

I initially thought it was from the barbell when doing squats - but the bar is nowhere near that wide and doesn't sit on top of the shoulders.

:)

now it all makes sense I did use the calf raise machine when I was still warming up
