The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Felt good enough tonight to spend 10min on the spinning bike.

No strain on back or anything.

Will slowly start to ease back into my routine from Monday.

As a side note. I officially hit more than 30kg weight loss this morning. Weighed in at 79.8kg. From my heaviest 110kg.

I have become fit enough to spend at least 30 minutes in the orbital trainer at 80% resistance.

I'm moerse chuffed about that.

I also do various other weight-training exercises.

Hi guys, dont know what wrong with me at the moment.

During this last 2 months. I have lost a kg...(not trying to lose weight but gain muscle) but my bf has increased by 1 percent. (using virgin active) .

Going gym 4 times a week, 40min, free weights.

I dont understand what I am doing wrong

You need to eat more to gain weight. You can do weight training until you blue in the face and pass out, but if you don't eat enough, you will not gain weight. If you eat wrong, you will also gain BF.

ps. when gaining weight when eating properly, you will gain both muscle weight and fat weight. Once you done tho, you can work at losing the fat and keeping the muscle after that.

Using what machine at VA? Cause if you using the arm thingy that presses down on your bicep then you might as well use a potato to measure BF...

I am eating right. . I think . nothing hectic. Trying to cut to 11 percent before trying to bulk. It's just frustrating. I should not be gaining fat and loosing muscle. Worst case is that muscle is constant. I hate the human body.

Using thst machine. This made me laugh.
That machine is totally inaccurate. A better option is a bioelectrical impedance scale if they have one; its not perfect so bear the following in mind:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioelectrical_impedance_analysis
BIA is considered reasonably accurate for measuring groups, or for tracking body composition in an individual over a period of time, but is not considered sufficiently accurate for recording of single measurements of individuals.[8]

Also, 1kg up or down is not much unless you are very consistently measuring at the same time of day, i.e. first thing in the morning, etc...

Also, the mirror can be a fair indicator once you know what you look like at a certain percentage.

Using the machine just as a indicator. Trying to trend a decline.

Gym is getting way to busy now days.

Easy way measure yourself once a week, with some tape measure start arms, chest, abdomen, hips and thighs. then jump on a scale and check your weight. Stick on your diet and training for a week then measure again.

If you have the money to get to the sport science institute to take an accurate body measure then do so.

Now if you losing your muscle (gains) get some BCAA's into your diet and keep your system anabolic. When you sleep your body enters a fasted state so take glass of casein whey protein or no fat cottage cheese for your last meal before bed. the casein releases the protein slowly into your system over the hours you are asleep so you will maintain, repair or build muscle. Keeps you anabolic, the body is in a state of repair, protein synthesis taking place as the slow trickle of protein over those hours helps your gains.

Thanks man

It is an inconsistent indicator IMO. Totally depends how you position your arm. I'd venture a guess you would get five different readings if you did them all after one another, with a hokey pokey in between each measurement

Slowly getting back into gym after a long while of pure laziness.

My body isn't entirely happy with at this point.

Anyone here had to deal with Frozen Shoulder?
How did you manage with your workouts

Which is better. Low weight more reps or the other way around.
