Anybody know a good place that sells good quality cages / half racks? Also looking for a solid bench that can be adjusted to incline/ decline

I'm also on the lookout. Need to start building my home gym.

Can't believe how expensive weights are.

Keep a look out on Gumtree and OLX for gym equipment. Every now and the you'll pick up a bargain. Weights and cages and stuff are ridiculously expensive, especially if you want something a bit better than Trojan.

Did 42 dumbbells on flat bench this morning. Kinda surprised myself there

I've built up my home setup over 12 years or so now. I still can't get over the price of weights. What I'd really really like now are a set of these:
http://www.bowflex.com/selecttech/1090/710000.html

I once got lucky enough to pick up the last pair of 15kg rubber dumbells at Mr Price sports - paid R600 for the pair. Other than that, I've scored some second hand plates but had to buy the bulk of them.
Then I built my own cage with ideas from here:

There's a couple of pics in the previous thread with local measurements. I'll repost if I find them.
Other than that I have a general machine with dip station, good pull-up bar, punch bag and 3hp treadmill. I need to replace my bench and get a preacher station (though I can make do without). I had an elliptical trainer at one point but stopped using it after a while. The treadmill plus bitgym on the iPad is fantastic.

Nearly 2 years old and still as strong as ever.
I've since added the pull-up bar. I'll get a pic of how that's mounted - works very well.

Hmm, I think the 20kg plates at my gym might be heavier than the 10's.

Wait that sounds ****ed up.

I mean, two 10's feels lighter than one 20.

I put on two 20's on each side for 100kg bp total and it felt heavy as **** lol, definitely felt heavier than 15 + 15 + 10 per side.

But idk, maybe I am bad at elementary math rofl

Recommendation for a good BCAA?

I use TNT BCAA it has a ration of 3:1:1 but the servings are much more than other BCAA. eg 4000g Leucine, 1333g Isoleucine & 1333g Valine. Most other BCAA have 3000g, 1000g and 1000g

Funny enough I know what you talking about because it feels the same for me.

Put multiple 10kgs then easy. Put 2 x 20kgs each side then it's ****ing heavy.

It's weird

I used to use SSN BCAA'S, but I'm also using TNT now because of the higher ratio's. I find it far better tasting as well, currently using Apple flavour.

So my MyProtein ordered arrived safely.

Here are my taste results of the flavours I ordered:

Salted Caramel: 4.5/5 (Very nice, definitely recommend)
Mocha: 2/5 (Did not like at all, and I'm a coffee freak, coffee and protein don't make a good mix)
Chocolate smooth: 4/5 (Better than all other protein brands' chocolate flavours, but nothing special)
Strawberry cream: 3.5/5 (See chocolate smooth, I'm just not a fan of strawberry protein)
Vanilla: 1.5/5 (Most horrendous vanilla flavour ever, do not recommend)
Blueberry Cheesecake: 5/5 (This is the best tasting protein I've ever had... OMG sooooooo good, definitely placing a huge order on this)

The 0 cal syrup is also very nice, you do taste the sweetener though, but it's not overpowering at all.

The protein pancakes are far too sweet, the batter is too runny, and they do not rise very well. Rather make your own and use the 0 cal syrup.

Hope this helps a few peeps wanting to order. On my next order I'll get a few more flavours to try.

Great! They seemed to have messed up my order and cancelled my salted caramel. I ordered cinnamon danish and lemon cheesecake, I also bought unflavored protein pancakes and some vanilla syrup. I can't wait to try all of it out.

Nice!

I tossed a coin between normal Blueberry and the Cheesecake version. Landed on normal so I got that. Hope it comes close to your cheesecake taste.

I'm still only on salted caramel. Will be a while before I try one of my other flavours. Not that it bothers me. The salted caramel goes soooooooooo nicely with double cream yoghurt. I can eat it all day long.

That sounds good, just mix it with a spoon?

Nah, you're probably just experiencing a glycogen low. Some days are like that. Just make sure your gym is not mixing Lb and Kg plates.
