The wife recently joined the gym and after a month is complaining of a little lack of energy after 3 which makes it a bit difficult to gym.

Is there something (non solid food) that she can take which would help. Not sure if its a whey protein or whatever but not something like a pre workout.

It should also preferably be pregnancy safe (just in case)

What about a stimilant-free pre-workout? Maybe something like Nutritech VasoNo3 - https://www.chromesa.co.za/store/product-categories/energy-pre-workout/nutritech-vaso-no3-280g.html

Perhaps try drinking more water and if she is following a low Carb diet definitely try more salt.

She can also do the strong black coffee 15-30min before the workout.

40% carbs
30% fat
30% protein

I am aiming for 100g of protein a day.

And yes, I am female. I am getting a steady fat loss of around 800g to 1kg a week (depending on my weekend willpower). I have lost cms in some places (around my bust and waist) and small increases in others like my arms and calves. So, I guess I have my macros and calories down to a decent point. My goal is fat loss while maintaining my muscle mass. Any criticism welcome.

No criticism here. I was just interested in knowing.

You're strong!

An apple or a cup of coffee about 30 minutes before I go to gym usually does the trick. Also, get your wife to drink more water. Dehydration can cause that flat feeling as well. Protein is taken to help build muscle and speed up recovery. It's not taken to help give that little extra oompf before a workout.

Edit: Didn't see Apoc's post...

Thanks Emjay. You too.

I'm on a deload week after 6 weeks of heavy lifting. So will be in and out of my bar in 30min tonight as I have been this whole week.

Monday it's back to vein popping weights again.

She drinks about 3L of water during the day (excluding gym time) and coffee I would think is a no no for someone that might be pregnant. She will do a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks but I know when she was pregnant she was this tired.

Will see whats going on but I thought whey might help with a bit of energy

Finally starting to pick up weight again after 3-5 weeks of 'stalling' and by stalling I mean hating food lol.

Anyone in the Cape Town area keen to split a R2200 myprotein order? Works out to about R1100 each for 9 x 1kg of their impact protein - so R122/kg. Also keen to split with more people, just to take advantage of the free shipping.

Will certainly do so for my next order. Looking to get some BCAA, Creatine and maybe Casein early next month.

I know they are currently running a special on creatine. But to be honest monohydrate is monohydrate. You are better off getting it locally.
