The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

Now this idea I like

Yeah, you need strategic re-feed days to stop your leptin levels getting too low and going into starvation mode, something like that :)

Along with hunger pangs, leptin also signifies a slowing metabolism. Whenever you are on a hypocalorie diet for an extended period of time, your body will begin to slow its metabolic functions in an effort to 'make due' with the amount of fuel that it is being given

That’s it f&@k this eating at a deficit crap. Two weeks ago I was squatting 147 today 110 kicked my ass. I use to be able to do 165 on deadlift now 135 and it feels like a train pulled me along

Y'all motherf**kers need to refeed.

If you're cutting to get lean and looked shredded who cares how much you lift? When you're on the beach and everyone is mirin' no one is going to look at you and wonder "hmm I wonder what his squat numbers are like" :wtf:

There is obviously a way to get shredded and retain or even gain strength while eating in a defecit... :D

Fck me, I' used to bench 160x5 easily, two weeks ago I failed with 140 :(

Anyone know where you can buy thick stall/stable mats in Cape Town?

Looking for something that is going to protect my garage floor

A few weeks ago my left butt muscle got very sore during a squat session. I think it was caused by the diy work I did the weekend before that. I had to stop and really felt it the next day... Which carried on for quite some time.

I then gave it a rest of about 3 weeks and started lifting again.. But I can still feel it and am scared ill pull it again which puts me back weeks again

Recommendations? Lift lighter but more reps until it's gone away? (I'm doing 5x5 stronglift)

Thanks

I've had that dull pain in the upper glute region before, definitely lower the weight and record your next squat you might need to clean up your form then I would prehab/rehab the area with

- foamroll the area or use a tennis/hockey/cricket ball to get deep in there to find the trigger point tennis-ball-glutes_c9tilc.jpg

- deep lunge

- pigeon pose pigeon-pose_28e26a0cc6b8f174bd793ed9e39a4948.jpeg

- couch stretch (if you can bear it) FullSizeRender-1.jpg

I try and relax into each one for 30 secs then move on to the next one

Squeezed out 3x2 of unassisted chin-ups yesterday at 93kg bodyweight. The weakness is slowly leaving me :)

Awesome! That's the way to klap it. The number will come, don't stress, just be consistent with training and good sleep!

Morning all.

Need some quick advice please. I generally don't drink caffeine but moving in to a cutting phase now (had to bulk during spring as I battled injuries during winter) I am going to lower carbs and think I might feel a but flat during workouts so wanted to try a pre workout with some caffeine in. But I could not find anything with less than 140mg of caffeine in. Reason I don't drink caffeine is it sometimes irritates my heart - but I can drink a lucozade with no probs and that has about 46mg of caffeine.

So instead of buying a pre workout with caffeine and it doesn't work out I was thinking of just adding some instant coffee to my pre workout and see what that does - that way I won't end up with something I can't use.

Any thoughts on this, will the instant coffee go well with a non stim pre?

I do a caffeine free preworkout. Why use caffeiene? It's addictive and your body goes through withdrawal when you stop.
