The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

I freakin hate hate hate front squats . Switched to landmine squats , well hate them also

Ta, that looks epic. Way easier to manage without a spotter. I've seen a diy contraption that you can use with a bar to do rows that could be used for landmine squats.

I must actually try these, I like finding alternative exercises in case there's no squat racks or barbells available, another one I keep on deck is the double kettlebell front squat front-squat-2.jpg

Hey guys, so I'm getting back into training this year. I have a bench, barbell and two dumbells in my bedroom. I'm not looking to do bodybuilding, just have a good built

Is there a good online store to buy more equipment like weight plates, I do squats without a squat rack by doing a power clean and only able to lift 40kgs over my head. Was looking to get a squat rack but it's really expensive.

Also I've only been using the equipment I mentioned, bulked up too fast so now trying to cut down with the stuff I have.. I'm sure it's possible to make good gains even with less equipment

For home gym usage Makro and Game probably still the best priced on weights and bars.

However. Look out for good second hand deals in the next 2 months or so. NY resolutions and all that lekker stuff. You know.

I picked up my very first setup on Gumtree years ago. Barbell, dumbbells, adjustable bench and about 100kg weights. Think I paid R1200.

Added about 150kg more in weights in the following years. Combo of new and second hand.

Added more bars, better bench and built my own dip bars, pull-up bar and also complete power cage which I later converted into a wall rack with a DIY pulley system for tricep pushdowns, facepulls and cable crunches.

So max out with what you have and add onto your setup as the need arises for more isolation exercises.

Hey guys,

Just two questions.

1. If I sustain a high protein, low card diet will I gain muscle? ( I am skinny) thing is just that food is expensive and I feel like most of my time goes to making and eating food. My goal is to get bigger and grow muscles.

2. just watched a video on Intermittent Fasting, is it a good idea for me to adopt this eating pattern? to only eat between 11 am and 7 pm? Will it increase muscle growth?

Haven’t you asked these same questions more than a dozen times in the last few months?

If you're naturally skinny, don't fast. Eat more meals more frequently, smaller portions. Not high protein low carb, rather balanced carb/protein/fat.

Have you seem how many times he has asked the same type of question and the amount of times people have given him advice?

Its as if he ignores all of the advice untill someone can give him a magic pill or he gets bitten by a spider and wakes up buff...

Not bad deal from Gumtree! I paid like R1500 for a bench and barbell with 20kg weight from Games.

Seriously need to get more weight plates soon, i'll have to forget about getting a squat rack for now since thats expensive and a pull up bar won't even work because my door frame is too wide.

Any good Preworkout supplement that has no creatine and is around R200?

I used to use hyperdrive USN which was around R190 and had creatine... So trying to not use that anymore

Correct, the same questions using different words over and over again.

Ignore him, we've wasted enough time giving him GOOD information that if he actually used would have given him some results by now.

Why would you want one without creatine?
It's the one supplement that is widely recommended.
It's much cheaper to buy separately and add it in yourself maybe? It's what I do.

How about nutritech vaso NO3? 40 servings per container if you use one scoop. Just drink coffee with it.

Edit: my bad I see now he's trying to avoid creatine.

I don't mind the creatine honestly but I seem to breakout when I take it.

And my water intake is probably not enough to help get the full benefits of it

Good to check it out, around R300 bucks I see.

I also have a problem with creatine, specifically creatine monohydrate. Screws up my stomach royally. Have to take it with a teaspoon of bicarb. But have no problem with the other types of creatine

I’m currently using the TNT MERCURY stack. Hydro blast for pre, Kevlar rapid fire for intra and Kevlar reload for post. It contains kre alkalyn creatine and so far this has been the easiest on my stomach
