Thanks
I have been maintaining a calorie deficit and I have been seeing results in terms of fat loss.
Was just wondering if my weight training was futile.
One of the big guys at the gym explained that after you lift weights, you've used up all your glycogen so if you go do cardio straight after weights, your body has no option but to burn body fat.
Then, someone else told me that cardio could eat away at your hard-earned muscle.
Then, someone else told me that just weights will result in weight loss, as long as I maintain a calorie deficit with my eating.

Googling the BEST way returns too many results and most of it goes well over my head.

I know that all of us want to find the "best" way to exercise in order to get the best possible results at the shortest amount of time.

But, I would say that, unless you are training for a competition, I'm not sure it makes a massive difference regarding cardio and HIIT. Don't worry about it too much, in other words.

Also I suggest doing some reading on weight lifting to find a decent program. A decent program does make quite a bit of difference - will also reduce your risk of injury. The best workouts are those that use as many compound lifts as possible. Compound lifts use many different muscle groups for the same movement - they are generally better than isolation exercises.

I recommend getting a good book, such as Bigger Leaner Stronger. Otherwise, maybe a personal trainer for a bit.

Yup, alcohol is a no-no if you're serious about loosing the gut.
It's the 1st thing I tell people when they ask me what to change to their diet, unfortunately most people can't let go of it.

If cutting back on the cough medicine is gonna help then I'd be happy to. Wanna look good in a Speedo by next year December.

When you clean your diet up people expect results after 2 days. It does not work that way - unless you count maybe dropping water weight due to cut carb and sugars.

However once those results start coming, they KEEP coming consistently as long as you are staying consistent.

I was pretty fat and only after 4 weeks of cleaning up my diet did I first see results. Now I can physically track body changes on a weekly basis. Keeps you motivated.

Aim for progress! Not perfection.

My dog was fat, as in really fat. Started to limit human food 1st. Then the amount of pills she eat. It is now almost a year later and now only starts to look great. No extra exercise was needed for the dog.

Pretty certain it would work for humans too, and probably also take a year to get to the look you want, if you just keep on consistently monitoring your food intake.

That said, it was 1000000 times easier to change my dog's diet than my own.

So you are saying we should eat dog pellets. But not too many :p :D

^ Reminds me of this joke.

Yesterday I was buying 2 large bags of dog food at Wal-Mart. I was about to check out when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had – an elephant?

Since I had little else to do, on impulse, I told her that no I didn’t have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn’t because I ended up in the hospital last time. On the bright side though, I had lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of every hole in my body and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to give it a try again. (I have to mention here that everyone in the line was enthralled with my story by now.)

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food had poisoned me. I told her no; I had stopped in the middle of the parking lot to scratch my fleas and a car hit me.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard.

While ago I heard something along the lines of this about cardio.

I really really hate cardio. But I do it and when I finish it, it is a mental victory for me. And getting fit and in shape is all about a series of victories. (Can apply to life in general too I suspect)

I feel the same about cardio. Have to force myself to get on the bike some days. But in the end you feel so much better for doing it.

So I found the original saying it was based on and the author.

"Regardless of the health and cardiovascular benefits what I really like about it is that I don't like doing it so when it's done it's a mental victory. Mental victories build momentum" - Joe Rogan

Thanks for the heads up.

Anybody here use the Amino Pre?

This heat is killing me and I struggled to maintain focus and intensity the last few days. Thinking about taking a pre-workout like that to assist a bit.

I use it. I quite like it actually, gives me great focus and energy. Taste is better than most pre's I've used.

You also asked about the Granadilla Whey. I like it as well, tastes a lot like Yogisip Granadilla. Still doesn't beat Cookies 'n Cream though . I would recommend getting a sample first or a smaller tub. I won't buy 3.2kg again, but would buy a 1kg just for something different every now and then.
