Scratch what I said earlier...took another serving of the new pre workout tonight...had pins and needles in my face and made me feel terrible. Awesome pump...never had a pump like that before but not worth it for me to feel like that. Gonna get rid of it

Which pre workout? I like it when they have a high beta alanine serving. Pins and needles says go time pump time.

If you dont like it look for one with lower dose. I supplement my pre with additional beta alanine caps

Creatine plus bicarbonate of soda has always done the trick for me

Took a puff before i hit the gym last night.Thought it would make me not lus to workout but it had the opposite effect and today im broken properly, so I will probably do it again.

I've seen a lot of this, every now and again it makes a nice difference in your intensity, almost a better "mind-muscle" connection, but consecutive use makes it wear off and you'll feel less of a workout so to speak.

I used the TNT kevlar nox. Please have a look and let me know what you guys think caused that feeling? I liked the pump I got but not the edgy, pins and needles type feelings. I was originally going to use the muscledynamix nox pump 3000 as it clearly states stimulant free but since it has no bcaa's I went for the tnt kevlar nox.

Can anyone tell me if www.qualitybrands.co.za is legit and reliable ?

A friend of mine wants to buy the ON special for R1299. Seems to be a really good price, just worried about the quality of the goods i.e, are they close to expiring or whatever.

The pins and needles comes from Beta Alanine to which i cant see on the label. You need to jump onto a stronger pre workout this Kevlar is pretty basic.

Good price but on their website it links back to optimumnutrition.co.za so I would contact Optimum South Africa to see of they recognize this website. The whois query points to:

Okes, need some advice. I have some pain/discomfort in the muscle in my right thigh. The one on top of the thigh.

This morning I did a 10km walk at a gentle pace, then rested for half an hour (stuffed around, answered emails etc), then I did my lower body workout.

Because I'm currently seeing a biokineticist, I did more than I usually would because I also did the exercises that she prescribed me. I did a dumbbell goblet squat, dumbell single leg deadlift, single leg squat (no weights, point is to maintain balance and touch my ankle), single leg calf raises (no weights), side stepping with a resistance band, forward lunges, and another body weight exercise that targets the muscles underneath your thigh. Your hamstring I think. You lie on your back, lift your bum and keep one leg straight for 10 seconds, then swap.

Anyway, I felt no pain after that. I then went to the pool for a quick dip, up and down stairs, still no pain. Lay in the sun for a bit after swimming, nothing.

I had lunch, and don't remember feeling anything. The first time I remember feeling anything was when I lay down on my bed to rest for a bit after preparing the meat for my braai. The muscle on my right thigh (quadricep?) is a little tender when I use it. Doesn't hurt when its not in use, but I can feel it when I move it.

Severity wise, I wouldn't really even call it painful. Its like 3 out of 10 pain wise, like a discomfort.

Is it a minor muscle strain? Anything I should do, or should not do, over the next couple of days? Obviously resting for the rest of the day.

EDIT: Gone today so I think it might have been delayed onset muscle soreness. Both legs are just quite stiff today! But no pain, thank goodness.

When in doubt, let injury be your guide. Doesn't matter if it works for someone else, if you can't do it because of shoulder issues, find something else. How cr@p will you feel if you can't lift for 3 months because of shoulder injury?

Good advice if you have dodgy shoulders. Also try to warm the rotator cuff properly, use bands etc. I also get a deeper contraction with behind the neck but I lower the weight and use good form to avoid injury when i do it.Ramp up the intensity with 3 second negatives and increase the reps. You have to be smart to train around injury or problem areas. I incorporate the behind the neck presses and pulldowns only twice a month on back and shoulder workouts. If something does not feel right i stop right there.

Thanks for the advice guys. I decided to try 3 sets towards the end of my shoulder day, I figured they would be the most warmed up and limber then.

Did pretty light weights with a wide grip. Lat contraction was really good particularly when i got the bar to the base of the neck/traps, however definitely felt strange in right shoulder. Not painful or tight, just strange. Going to approach with caution for now. Perhaps once or twice a month on shoulder day and going to focus on shoulder mobility for the next few months....

I dont want to discard just because it can be dangerous, but i also dont want to be on my a** for 3 months. So slowly does it....

Hope it translates to results on back day in the long run :D

Good choice bro-da. Best approach is to take it slow and cautious. Also not giving up on something you believe can be very good is good too, as long as you are cautious like you decided to do.

If anybody is going to the gym tonight or tomorrow morning. Care to do me a favour please?

Please can you give me an approx height from the ground up of the tricep pushdown bar while it is still inactive. So before you pull it down to start the exercise.

I'm building my own "cable machine" onto my existing DIY power rack so that I can add tricep pushdowns, lat pull downs, face pulls and cable crunches to my workouts. Just need an estimate of the height.

And can anybody confirm if the height of the cable is the same for all the exercises I mentioned? So do you use the same setting on the machine?

Thanks

Bump! Nobody?

Don't know what reverse pyramid training is and don't have a tricep machine.
