Split hammies and quads into their own days. So train hammies and then 2 days later train quads. That way you can push harder on each specific group. But squat both days.
Thats a good way to go. You also need to do mobility exercises (open up the hips, ankle, quads & knee) before you squat to increase ROM and work on mind to muscle push from the heals etc. From what you said you are not squatting properly but you can learn over time which would lead to gains. There is a tutorial i posted earlier from Layne Norton to perfect your squat technique. Various ways to train in terms of intensity like pause reps etc. I see far too many people with incorrect form and I can probably assure you you have a flawed technique. Also you need to be able to hold at least a 1 minute plank to have a stronger core and I hope you do lower back work as well. All these tools need to be in place to effectively squat ( I sound like Kai Green) So you have much to work on which should get you ready to train and build the wheels properly. As for nutrition you need to be in calorie surplus so go on a clean bulk cause legs like back use alot of your bodies resources. If i were you you should hammer calves 3 times a weak with volume and progressive overload. Again I once posted a video from Hunter Labrada earlier which quite simply i think is the ultimate calf training routine. Lots of pain involved here but if you serious about this then that should be no issue.
Thank me later
Shot okes!
sorry for the late reply, between exam prep and illness

my gyming became irregular but i am supper keen to get back into it.
Had a look at the advice you guys posted and structure my weekly routine as follows:
M - Chest and tri's
Tu - Rest
W - Legs (quad focused)
Th - Back and Biceps
F - Shoulders and calves
Sa - Rest
Su - Legs (posterior chain focused)
On squats I am shelving the pride, dropping the weight and focusing on form. i find box squat helping. It helps me get the depth i need (lower the box as mobility increases) and i can make sure i am pushing from my heels. the box helps because if i am unable to control the movement at the bottom i can simply plop down on the box rather than resort to bad form. Still pretty bleak about low weight but as long as muscles improve i guess thats more important.
Being on a bulk is strange... i feel much better than when in deficit but i feel so much fatter!
My split is as follows:
Legs (quad focused)
Squat - 6x3 (will consider changing to front squat once form and strength improve)
Leg press - 10x3 with low foot placement
Walking lunges - 12x3
Leg extensions - 5min burnout
Standing calf raises 15x4
Seated calf raise 12x4
Legs (posterior chain focused))
Squat - 6x3
RDL - 6x3
(these feel very strange at the moment...)
Leg press - 10x3 with high and wide foot placement
Lying Leg curl- 12x3 (one leg at a time) OR Seated Leg curl- 5min burnout
Glute-bridges - 12x3
Standing calf raises 15x4
Seated calf raise 12x4
@Raphael123 can you post links to "Layne Norton to perfect your squat technique" and "Hunter Labrada ultimate calf training routine" i had trouble finding it...
