I've been quite slack at working out for the last 2 months or so. I don't know. It feels like every week there is some reason why I can't work out as much as I would like to. Sickness, or too busy, or holiday, or something. Sometimes just plain tiredness. Some weeks I've done one workout per week, some even 0.
As it happens, on Wednesday I had to drop a parcel off at the couriers on the way to work. Which meant coming in later - I got in at 9:30 and left just after 6. Normally I wake up at 5:45 and get to work just before 7. I then leave at 4, and exercise usually between 5 and 6. Sometimes between 6 and 7.
Anyway, what was interesting about coming into work later is that I realized it might actually suit me better to come in later and leave later. I can wake up at 7 or 7:30, which is a nice leisurely time. I can do a morning workout, even a run or something, and then aim to get into work by 9 or 9:30. Which feels "late" at the moment, but I'll get used to it. Traffic is actually pretty quiet close to 9, in fact I think it is quieter than when I normally go to work at 7. Also I felt more rested when I woke up later. I mean, not surprising I suppose. I go to bed around 10PM on weeknights, so waking up at 5:45 is just a little short of 8 hours sleep. But perhaps I need more?
I also think I'll have more energy to work out in the morning than after a day of work.
Otherwise, fat loss continues at a slow pace, which surprises me a little because as I said I haven't been that disciplined the last few weeks. I still eat my regular healthy diet, but now and then I've had a donut at work. Or a milkshake on the weekend, or something. Or a dinner during the week in which I eat carbs. Coupled with no or little exercise, you would expect fat loss to have stalled, but it hasn't.
I'd probably say that I have a relatively flat stomach now, although no visible abs. There are dimples though, so I think if I lose 2kg of fat, I'll look quite different.
