The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

As for workouts, find a program written by someone else knowledgeable. Don't just think you can pick your own set of exercises that you feel like doing - there is some science to it.

Watch youtube videos, but actually I'd get a personal trainer in for one or two sessions to help with form. You might not notice all of the correct form elements just from watching a video.

+1.

Rather get it right from the beginning...looking back I wish I had spent some time with personal trainer instead of winging it and later relying on internet and youtube videos, many of these videos from "experts" will lead to injuries judging by the way some of these guys fling weights around.

Hey guys,

So i thought this would be the appropriate thread to ask for advice. I am about to purchase a set of this as i need to do some strength training to complement running (and i can get these cheap)

Now i am a beginner to weights so i'm just wondering if you guys have any programs to point me in the right direction. Note i don't have a bench. I have googled but there are 100000 bazillion of them, should i just pick one? Main focus would be to lose weight and obviously build strength, full body. Unfortunately i can't afford gym membership here so this will have to do.

Yeah been using my fitness pal and tracking my calorie intake. I still sukkel to get 1500 in a day :/ hover around 1000-1200 which isnt ideal

Is it flavoured? You could always try and add some cocoa powder.

Nope, no real flavour to it. I landed up binning three bags of the stuff because I couldn't get it down. What I did notice the one day once I made a smoothie in the morning at 06:30 and only drank it at 08:00 was that the crystals had dissolved. I could've added coco powder or even peanut butter for that matter but I couldn't get over the consistency eventually.

I guess I was being a pussy because at the end of the day I also don't eat tuna out of the tin because I like it :p

Never found those crystals in protein before I usually find them in creatine or glutamine type mixes. I hate when you have to bin stuff because of the taste or you can't keep it down.

Important to have lots of fibre in the diet to ensure the digestive system is functioning properly and also digestive enzymes if you getting in lots of protein helps. An old secret of bodybuilders. You wanna have the best absorption rate in your body. Though this video below will help especially with older lifters.

Greg Valentino has lots of these gems on his channel.

Digestive enzymes is a MUST

Very underrated supplement

Interesting. Probably explains the bloat I have been experiencing since I started slow bulking again. All that protein not getting broken down fast and efficiently enough.

Which product do you guys use? And at what dosage.

Thanks

Yes the pineapple has bromelain which helps with the protein. I also take few slices (cut) with my post workout protein shake. Also the little sugar in the pineapple is ideal to spike the insulin after the workout and replenish the glucose loss.
