The Bodybuilders Thread: Circuit II

So today there was about 50 people in the weights/machine section
I had to go during peak hour times because of my work schedule :(

I literally got to do; lat pulldowns, machine rows and DB bicep curls each only 3 sets. And with the DB's I wasn't able to even go heavier or lighter because there was no weights left D:

Was there for 30 minutes before I left and that included weighing myself and a trip to the urinal grrrrr.

But I learned my lesson. I'll try to go before work now. Set that alarm for 4:40 :crylaugh:

Been reading elsewhere today that the GABA gives a tingling/itchy feeling in your face, arms and legs and can give you shortness of breath if you take too much. Most options say to start on 3g...but most people have had those side effects on 3g so they say to start at 500mg. I'll freak if I had to feel shortness of breath, can't stand side effects like that.

That's BS. Do you have a link?

GABA is for sleep.

Of course your body will react weird of you take 3grams that silly.

Did that for the first time ever. Felt weird. But can't really knock or praise it yet.

Anybody here make use of a foam roller?

Did foam rolling help for stiffness and mobility?

I have a bit of an anterior pelvic tilt (which I'm working on) and the recent tightness in my quads, lower back and hip flexors from going at it hard have been giving me some lower back pain the last few weeks.

Not looking to waste money on an over-sized pool noodle if it is not going to help.

I've had one for 2 years. It's more of a gimmick imo. There's nothing special about the foam really. It might work for some, but I did a wole course with it (myofacial release) and found it to be BS. Might as well just do a decent stretching routine. (the yoga style ones that last like 10-20 minutes).

Agreed I don't think it's magical it works. But it works because it's a sort of warming off for the muscles I'll often do it on legs and use a little tennis ball to role between my biceps amd triceps to try and stretch it a bit create more of a definition hard to explain Wil need to show what I do.

since were on this mobility topic talk to me about shoulder impingements , I get a pain when I do pull ups but I don't appear to have lost any of my pushing power I did a test yesterday and was able to bench my own bodyweight and 35kg+ dips, I also did a 2 medium ohp sets that didn't seem to bother me either

I've been using one and for me it works! Got mine at Dischem for R160 a few years back.
Had a slight lower back muscle pull a while back and every now and again a few days after squats they tighten/spasm. Rolling on it hurts quite a bit but about 3 sessions over 1 day I'm 100% again. Also use it on my calves, hurts like a mofo, but it does alleviate the stiffness imo.

I need some help here

I just realized how puffy my face has become, like really fat. I'm still bulking so im guessing I'm also gaining fat even though I'm counting my calories.

I weigh 72kgs now. If i Start cut I feel I would look skinny again because I'm now really that big yet (height is 6ft) I do have some muscle now and fat ofcourse.

Any advice? Do I just continue the bulk till next year to like 80-90kgs before cutting

Rotator cuff or Bicep Tendonitis

Weighed in at 64.5 today (after pooping!)
That is a big problem.
I've been back at gym for maybe 2 months now.

So I'm dreamer bulking?

I'm currently benching what I was benching when I weighed 60 kg's (two years ago) so that makes me feel like I'm 4.5kg's fat lol.

Ironically though I don't look like I've gained 7 kg's. I basically look the same imo. Weird.

hmm, that's odd. Sounds like bloating.
The face is the last part where you should be gaining 'really fat'.

The rest of you will be fat long before your face should be fat. I was like 17% bf and my face wasn't even fat, I did lose that 'meth cheeks look' though lol. But currently at 12% and my face doesn't look that different - body however - big diff.

Thanks for all the replies about the foam roller guys.

After watching the Limber 11 routine I decided to get one anyway along with a hockey ball for the glutes. Surely can't hurt to get a bit more mobility going and if it is going to help with the APT and lower back aches it is a massive bonus.

Will give feedback after a few sessions. Going to give it at least a month before I make a call on whether it really helps or not.
