I agree, but to be accurate, I was ripping the stability ball, not him.
I apologize, no idea why I am like this recently

I am the only person in my gym that deadlifts.
Well, i lost the kilo by just eating stricter... i am not calorie counting and would guess I must be at a deficit when i lost a bit like that.Oh yeah had that happen to me a few times when i was learning to squat/deadlift, back doesn't stay arched, it's a weird feeling. If you get to 12% you'll probably see your abs clearly, I am at 11% and all my abs are visible, although I am far from ripped![]()
I heard if people have knee problems they are better off doing box or hack squats, but I am not an expert in that department.
So are you losing weight and getting stronger? If so that is very impressive![]()
We have two squat racks at VA Kenilworth and I find I have to pounce on it sometimes because half the time it is busy (well when i go during peak). I would say only half the dudes do squats down to parallel or below. The rest do those silly half squats with really heavy weights, obviously too heavy if they can't go low with the weight?I am the only person in my gym that deadlifts.
I've been asked to put the weights down slowly so that they dont make a noise

That's fukking retarded, it's a deadlift, that's just the noise the plates make when they touch the floor. It's not like you're going 'HULK SMASH' and dropping that chite from the top of your rep.
I've quit Virgin Active in favour of continuing with going to my varsity gym, I can throw weights around, deadlift heavy, and squat heavy and nobody cares. I used to go to VA in Gardens and I've been asked more than 5 times to put the weights down slowly so that they dont make a noise, It puts a damper on your workout when you wanna get jacked brah.
On the subject of stability balls. :/ . I'm sure they have some sort of relevance in training for sport and functional strength, however I am highly sceptical about the benefits and people spend too much time talking about it and trying to prove its worth for me to care. There are well-proven scientifically sound and backed alternatives which I'll stick to.
if you are one of those bone heads who drop weights for attention then go eff yourself, or if you grunt like an idiot as well, everyone makes a noise when lifting very heavy but please if you sound like a female tennis player benching a WHOLE 60kg then you have a problem bru
I think some people do it because the weight is really heavy, and others because they seek attention ;P

Do any of the VA guys have issues with no fitness consultants on the floor? I have always been able to ask for a spot , at least on my last set, but now after I changed gyms, there is nobody on the floor to help during the day.
Sooo I finally managed to get my 1RM PR on Bench to 100kg today. Very happy with myself, seeing as my bw is only ~72kg.
